QUEENSLAND'S quest for a State of Origin whitewash has been rocked with the news that star hooker Cameron Smith is nursing a shoulder injury.

http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/spor ... 09,00.html

I think if Smith is ruled out then Nathan Friend should come into the side.

so far the injury problems for QLD are:

Petero Civoniceva - Confirmed Out
Israel Folau - Confirmed Out
Ben Hannant - Likely Out (apparently there is still a chance he could play)
Ash Harrison - Possibly out
Cam Smith - Doubt
Karmichael Hunt - Ankle Injury, i think he is likely to play

good chance for some of the fringe players to have a look in. especially the front row

After reading that article is sounds like Cameron Smith is about 90% to play

If he is out Aaron Payne comes in, due to combo with JT. But he looks like he could be out as well.

Matt Ballin?

Ballin was in that preliminary squad but Nathan Friend is ten times the better player.

I would go with Nathan Fried for sure

^ exactly what I was thinking.
This game counts for nothing anyway but QLD will have a very good chance to blood some future players.

If this is accurate, Friend must come in due to the Payne injury. Ballin may have won a GF and played very well in that GF but Friend has been on fire this year and deserves a go.

This is bad bad bad news for NSW.

QLD in a dead rubber, get to blood new origin players.

something that NSW aren't doing with the selection of Kimmorly and Barrett in the halves. [icon_lol1.
