Packer is not this intimidating force some people are making him out to be ... other players don't fear him running at them. if they did he would acerage far more than the 80-odd meters he averaged (in his best season).

people seem to be confusing his actions off the field, with his actions on the field...

my only hope is that the NRL refuse to register a contract for him, to save us the indignity of him wearing our prestigious jersey and running out for our great club.

I don't believe that's true. I think he definitely is intimidating. You can't use stats to prove one way or the other whether someone is intimadating or not.

People aren't confusing anything, they are making an opinion on what they see with their eyes and not stats they have looked up.

FTR as I have already said I have probably changed my mind on whether I think the broncos should sign him, doesn't mean in going to make stuff up to support my argument

He should sit out a year at least. Carney did less and so did Ferguson and they had to sit out a year. After that he can sign for the minimum wage and play Intrust Super Cup because that is about his talent level.

Unfortunately Russell won’t be coming to the Broncos. I received a call from his manager (on Friday night) advising me that Russell is going to go in a different direction and look at offers from other clubs. He won’t be here next year.

That was a good read. He's refreshingly open too in these interviews.

He's said that Milford and Hunt will definitely be the halves combination, and if Boyd comes, he'll be fullback.

Which gathering from that... Who knows what that means for Barba, If Boyd isn't coming I guess Barba will be fullback again.

He also implied that we're lacking an aggressive forward, and I definitely agree (even though I don't think Packer could be that guy for us).

Well as the only person on this forum that wanted packer here on minimum coin, I'm disappointed he won't be coming.

Very glad the Broncos didn't raise there offer though.

Interesting signing by Panthers considering all the talk from Gould on their success was about signing players with the right character

This isn't confirmed apparently. Dragons are favourites in front of Panthers according to Brent Read of The Australian.

Wow, I was one of the people not against Packer getting a second chance, but fucking hell, a million dollar offer while he's still in jail? That's a joke. I now hope the NRL refuse his registration. It's one thing to work your way back in, but to immediately get a big money contract offer while still in jail is just wrong.
