BRISBANE youngster Peter Wallace was named halfback for New South Wales for game one of rugby league's State of Origin series after injury ruled Newcastle utility Kurt Gidley out of contention.

Nice!! Congrats Wallace, well deserved. Hopefully can cement a spot for years to come. This is the same man that was playing for reserve grade last year for Panthers! What a move to Brisbane can do for your career huh? :P

He hasn't been playing that great against the Broncos, he just makes himself look good, because that department has been so bad in recent years.

I think he's a good selection for origin. That coming from and Queenslander though.

Haha Yeah ok, Well I definitely wasn't wearing my biased glasses before he signed for Broncos from Panthers I always thought he was something special when playing for Panthers- thought his short kicking game was second to none and was very dangerous at 5/8th. And I'm being spiteful because you are writing my opinion off because it's not yours. There's no right or wrong, I believe he deserved the call up and I hope that they stick with him for good because he has the skills, determination and drive to be in Origin for years to come and that's my opinion. Broncos glasses off and all.

Well my apologies then, back on topic- I'm hoping they stick with him even if they lose the first origin. They need to find stability in their halves so they have a better chance over the next few years and at 22 he is a good chance.

Im just a little annoyed that brisbane finally get a halfback and now he's going to be called away during origin. So frustrating to have Wallace playing great footy, solving our halfback problems and now he's playing origin!! God Dammit, I know its selfish but I want him at the broncos not playing origin and especially not for NSW!!
