Copley vs Reed

So true about compilation videos being made to serve an agenda haha just pick the parts you want to to prove your point

Have you even read Bennetts book? If you have then you'd have a bit more respect for his insight and philosophies.. He'd really despise you talking on behalf of him or assuming you know his position or motivations (especially when you have such a narrow minded view on what goes into an nrl player or a team of them for that matter)

It really shits me when people assume his position without really knowing him inside and out. Really disrespectful

You think Bennett would be disappointed with how Reed played in the finals series? ! THE GUY PLAYED THE GF WITH A DISLOCATED SHOULDER AND SCORED A TRY! ! Some people. .

On both of those Ferguson tries, I see Reed coming in because of RTS.

100% his fault? I don't think so.

He was put in a bad situation. RTS is a try scoring machine that has been able to score some ridiculous tries, and he was going up against Milford.. Who do you think comes off second best in that situation?

He not only had to worry about Ferguson, but he also had to worry about RTS running straight through Milford to score. And as a result Ferguson got on the outside of him and from then on, it was pretty much going to end badly for him. You will find it very difficult to stop Ferguson in that situation, no matter how good a defender you are. He is very strong and fast.

This is one of the reasons why we need an intimidator on that left side, someone that can protect Milford better.

As much as I like Reed and Copley neither of them are the most reliable defenders. One on one Copley puts on a bigger hit but also brains himself in the attempt. He knocked himself out too many times this year.
I have no idea how well Roberts can defend but I am not keen to lose Copley or Reed or even Maranta for that matter. Plus there are.young guys out there coming.through who are most importantly Qld'ers.
(We seem to be looking outside Qld too much lately.

So in theory he'd be annoyed that you're assuming that he'd be annoyed ?

And then annoyed at me for assuming that he'd be annoyed that you assumed he'd be annoyed about Puds assuming ?

Then annoyed at me again for assuming that he would be annoyed by me, assuming that he would be annoyed at you, for assuming that he would be annoyed at Puds assuming ?

Haha yeah. I did see the irony in my statement but i felt i had a better handle on his values in that instance. He hates the media to the bone.. He would hate this forum and the way we bicker. It's all pretty immature

Exactly this. Its better to protect him from the inside-out rather that bring the man in from the outside and create the overlap.

Exactly. People don't understand defensive structures and the fact some players are just so good at creating the situations to break them down. One of the reasons why the maroons are so successful. Cronk, Slater, Inglis, Hodges, Smith, Thurston.
 
I think with Mcguire back Glenn, Gillett or Thaiday will be able to cover Milford a bit better and allow Reed to focus on the opposite centre. I like Reed myself. But I also like Copley at centre. Either way I have faith that we will do well next year and I just want the bickering of the offseason to end. Yeah we lost the gf. It happens. I was surprised we made it and thought we would need at least one more good prop to get there with McGuire out.
 
Not wanting to bag Copes at all, but he is hardly a great defender himself. If Bennett thinks Roberts is a better option in the center position than what we have anyway surely we should trust his judgement.

Agree with you 100% on this Wolfie! Not much difference between Jimmy an Copley in defensive ability ,an Jimmy would tear Dale a new one everyday of the week when it comes to attacking potential. OMG can you imagine it, am so pumped an hope tomorrow is the day we hear the fabulous news we all been waiting for!
