Corey Oates Injury

He gets shoulder charged by 2 players. Number 10 (Ben Matulino), braces himself with his right shoulder by his side, then digs the shoulder in, while at the same time, number 16 (James Gavet), runs from a small distance and digs his right shoulder into Oates' sternum region.

I can't believe the only player penalised for foul play in that game was Milford. Anything and everything the Warriors did was fair game apparently.

AC injuries leave you with no strength in that arm. Let him recover and give the depth players some experience

Even with a couple of injuries we should make the 8. As long as our squad is fit and firing by round 20-ish I'll be happy.

Tough break. In the grand scheme of things though, 4-6 isn't that long. Considering he's gone through a few reconstructions already, I'm sure he's thankful that's the extent of the injury.

Our S&C / rehab programs seem to be putting out pretty good results (see Kahu, Reed, McG, etc). I imagine the current estimate is pretty conservative, and assuming he does the right things, we'll see him back sooner rather than later.

The question is who replaces him in the interim? Assuming Maranta is still out, do we roll the dice with Eden, or does Seve / Opacic get a chance to state their case?

I am backing Seve to get a run. Bennett is in an experimental mood

Well this will be where Roberts needs to shine, I see us throwing more ball out to the right while Oates is away.

Bring in Maranta he was selected in the world all stars team after all

You'd have to back him to recover quicker than expected. Every injury we've had has been rehabilitated quickly. He's quickly becoming my favourite player to watch so wish him a speedy recovery.

Yeah but he isn't as professional as reed or kahu

I think we're setting a very dangerous precedent letting all these guys come back several weeks ahead of when they should be. You could tell by last night that Reed & Kahu weren't even close to 100%, Reed was terrified to hit anything with that shoulder and Kahu was clearly still hampered by his quad, didn't attack any high balls last night, which is his speciality.

The reason they're rushing back is because A) they love the Broncos and B) they're scared to lose their spot in the team.. Copley & Gavet got injured last season and were never seen again at the club, I don't blame them for being worried about losing their place in the pecking order, but you've gotta recover 100% before you come back, I really wish Wayne didn't let those 2 play last night, one of these days it's going to come back and bite us and someone is going to re-injure themselves much worse than they originally did.

He's been through a tonne of rehab and is playing at a very high level for someone so young. Wouldn't really question his professionalism. I back him to work as hard off the field as he does on it.

I agree that they don't want to be out for long given the competition for spots but that said, I think in Reed's case, first game back he was always going to be protective of the shoulder. Now, he's got through it, he'll be fine.
