Dale Copley - Appreciation Thread

Yeah, but it's the Ash Taylor forum.
Lol, hey I didn't turn it from Copley to Taylor, all I was doing was trying to finish it by confirming how long he is signed to so the subject can move on, dunno why I am being singled out lol

I think everyone knows he's signed until 2016, we were discussing when Dale was signed until :P

all good mate, wasn't meaning to single you out. I just saw a chance at one liner and couldn't resist

I find it interesting that Kahu has seemingly jumped Copley for any outside back position.

You'd think it should be in this pecking order:

Fullbacks - Boyd, Kahu, Maranta, Nikorima, Eden
Wingers - Kahu, Maranta/Vidot (equal-ish)
Centres: Hodges, Reed, Copley

But instead Dale appears to be fourth choice centre with Wayne preferring, when Hodges it out, to move Kahu in one place to centre and name both Maranta and Vidot.

It seems to me this is unfair on Copley, who is probably more proven that Maranta and Kahu. He probably has a right to feel he should be next in line once Hodgo retires, but at this rate, maybe Kahu is the anointed heir at centre? Thoughts?

Kahu is playing better than Copley currently. The only pecking order there should be is form.

As long as Kahu is fit. He will always be infront of copley. Dales only chance is if reed plays bad or gets injured.

I'm wayne

Copley is out for 4-6 weeks from a fractured eye socket.

I think his chances of playing for the Broncos again in 2015 are over.

By the time he gets back and gets match fitness, we would be on the run home to the finals. If Reed keeps playing the way he is, I can't see Bennett dropping him.

Hopefully Reed doesn't get in to his head that he's home & hosed and starts phoning it in.

Geezus this poor kid is unlucky.

The worst thing is, Copley is a bit of a confidence player.......when he first come onto the scene 2011(?) he was fucken hopeless. But he gained in confidence from the game time and showed much improvement the following year. I thought 2013 might be his break out, then he's out for the season. Last year showed bits of brilliance, but again spent a fair whack of the season on the sideline.

Dunno now......he could end up our own Kyle Stanely. A could have been.....that fate decided was never going to happen.

Personally ,I dont really get all this Copely love. To me, his a poor mans version of Chris Lawrence from the tigers. Lawrence promised a lot in hes early years, but never really delivered on that promise, due in part to a lot of injuries. IMO, Copley will be very much the same.

I may be proven wrong, but at this point in time, Kahu, an even Reed, offer much more than him to the team.

If he's a poor man's Chris Lawrence, he should be a few levels down from Q Cup.

Copley actually played every game last season.

Would have played every minute too if he didn't come off heavily concussed against NZ.

Can we actually just drop the whole he's and his thing now? It's done it's rounds and it's number is up. Really isn't very impressive anymore
