RUMOUR Darius Boyd and Paul White Standing Down

The problem with appointing Gillett or Glenn is that they've both come off recent seasons where they've only just held on to their starting spots in the side. Gillett in particular isn't looking like he'll be around in 2-3 years time.

I'd be nervous about them winding up in a situation like Boyd where they have to continue to be picked because they're the Captain but not necessarily the best in their position.

Can white just not step aside from the football department? All reports he’s a gun on the other side of the business.
Broncos Limited would run itself if the football department is successful.

We honestly should have a CEO and a director of football. Director of Football answers to the Board rather than the CEO.

It's a listed company and a football club. The duties should be separated. You can't be the CEO of an ASX company and running the football club - they're two completely different roles.

Paul White will be a monumental loss to this organisation ...

Darius Boyd was expected, I still expect him to retire quietly during the off season

..he would be yet.....someone has to fall on their sword....and hes the CEO...

Milford already shrinks under the pressure of being chief playmaker, for which we give him a cool mil a year. You can't add the pressure of the captaincy to that. Gillett is a poor choice for mine - how long is he going to last? He hasn't exactly been setting a good example either, granted that's down to injury but still.

Glenn is captain material through and through but he may get squeezed out of the starting side. I'd still be tempted to give it to him and find a spot at left centre or in the backrow for him each week. Use the next year or two to see who amongst the young guys stands up.

But yeah, it'll probably end up being Milf.

I would lose it if Milf is named captain. The guy is everything a Broncos captain should never be. Half arsed, disinterested, not top tier. He's not captain material and is endemic of the attitude the team plays with.

Glenn, Lodge, Gillett are the only captain material in our squad.

Haas should be our next captain in 2021-2022, he's everything a Broncos player should aspire to be, he's a supreme talent with supreme work ethic.

....could be the making of him however......dunno, its tough tot ell, and emotions are stillraw with me...have to think about it..

There should be a lot of people on notice and up for grabs. People like Morris and Nolan, as well as the usual suspects. I don’t know enough about the inner workings of the club but it obviously ain’t working as it is.

It is quite concerning that we don't have an obvious replacement in the side. **** me have all hands been off the wheel the past few years?

Milford is a shadow of the player he was on 2015. He doesn’t handle pressure well at all. Adding the captaincy would make it worse. The club knows this.

yeah imo we have a seriously big problem there. the experiment proved he's not a FB anymore, but he's a pretty mediocre 5/8 as well. his running game consists of a stop and jink in the line and if that doesn't work, he's got nothing. average passing game, average kicking game, a speed hump in the front line.

1 million dollars.

I just can't agree with this, or the Milford hate. He is the victim of shitty positional selections, being forced to play 3 positions because Dariu$$$ and Macca had to be accommodated, and Jake "I am not a half back and never will be" Turpin plays half back. Milford was forced to compensate for this dreadful debacle. I really feel for him.

His passing game can be superb and his running game will only feature when he has a decent half and 9 to support him, and a game plan that makes use of his skills.

People ought to go and look at some of Milf's highlight reels.

Milf ought to be 6 and for mine, the captaincy would only improve his game and his attitude.

Macca is next in line. He’s already the proxy captain, if you’ve been paying attention to who calls the shots in attack.

I’m a massive milf fan but no way should he be captain. I’d give it to Gillett for a season or two before giving it to one of the young kids

The problem with highlight reels is that any 6 year old can have a highlight reel because naturally it picks and chooses what to show.

What it doesn't show you is the amount of time Milf puts in a nothing kick, or gets caught on the last because he's fooled no one with his stop-and-jink-in-the-line, or grasses his pass to his outside men.

It's not like Milf has only started playing poorly this year since the positional swap - he's been pretty average since 2017! He has not developed significantly in the role since he arrived. Even Nikorima, before he got jettisoned, was playing better than Milford in the halves - I mentioned it on here and I think even Andrew Johns on Sunday Footy mentioned Kodi as the better performing of the two earlier in the season despite being on half a mill less.

I just get this sinking feeling we've backed the wrong horse here. I would not be going anywhere close to the alleged 1mill mark he currently gets.

Funny I never realised Macca was a mute.
Seriously, I reckon Macca has been leading the side around, and the attack is a reflection on his style. Even when he’s being rested after 50 minutes his style endures. They only time we haven’t looked like headless chooks with strings of passes to flat footed forwards, was when he was out injured.

don’t even joke about it 🙉
I’m dead serious

if 'he calls' the shots in attack he must have the most underused voice-box in the NRL as our attack has been non-existent all season.
