David Gallop......GOOONNNEEEE!!!

Wayne Pearce is a member of the independant commision so he might get promoted.

ROFLMAO!!! If Pearce gets the CEO position the NRL might as well roll over and die right now.

He has had a pretty tough bunch of whinging losers to deal with, and in the time he's been here, I think he's done alright. Fails to make the tough decisions, almost like he's trying to be every club's mate.

Need a business man/woman, not a footballer. They don't play footy because they're the smartest blokes in school.

I thought he did a pretty decent job overall....apart from the Stewart incident.

i agree, can't be a past player, has to be someone from the business world

This. He's done a great job when nobody in power disagrees with him, but he was such a puppet when someone powerful had an agenda.

I bet Todd Greenberg is happy. He's been after this job for years!

pfft his handling of the Stewart incident was fair enough. As the feature player if you're stupid enough to write yourself off in front of all the major sponsors at the game's season launch you deserve to be kicked up the arse.

Brett Stewart a short time ago entering the Manly Leagues Club

Oh Please.

Stewart was the face of League, at a function to kick off the season & Stewart gets p!ssed. (he got 4 weeks for being a farkwit at the function.)

It had nothing to do with the assault allegation.

Gallop di a good job for the most part IMO. just look at some of the things he has had to deal with over his tenure.

Bulldogs sex scandal
Bulldogs salary cap rorts
Storm salary cap rorts
Stewarts alleged sexual assault of teen girl
Watmough punching a sponsor
Broncos toilet tryst
numerous other players getting on the piss and making asses of themselves
Bulldogs betting scandal
SBW contract breech
Titans problems

and plenty more

Agreed.

However, these were all reactions. He did a good job of reacting to problems, but a very poor job of being proactive.

I've always been a fan of Gallop. I'll reserve my judgement of this news until we find out who is replacing him. It's too early to say if this is a good or bad thing. I hope he stays involved with the NRL in some position.

Round 15 will be interesting.

Manly vs Storm.

It will be Celebration Week.

They can play for the David Gallop is gone trophy.

They're bringing in someone who can get the TV rights deal done.

The Stewart affair was solely the problem of the Stewarts not Gallop.

I think Gallop's worst moment was the last TV deal. That was appallingly handled and the biggest blight on his 10 years, totally undersold the game for 5 whole years. And I dare say would be why he is no longer in charge.

Everything else he handled well imo.

I thought Gallop did a good job. Held his own amongst so much shit.

Interested to see who the replacement is. Hopefully they have balls.
