David Mead to Brisbane

I think this would be my preferred back line also, but Wayne loves Opacic, it'll be him starting at left centre and Kahu on the right wing I believe.

I think that Oates will move to the bench next season going off Smokin Joe's comments. I have got that feeling that Wayne likes Kahu at centre and thinks Pearson is ready to take the right wing spot full time.

I love Opacic, but I think the make up of the backline is better if he is there as a backup option.

1. Boyd
2. Mead
3. Kahu
4. Roberts
5. Pearson

Kahu is very fragile in the centers in his time with us, and he will have to lift his game defensively from the other night if he takes that left center spot., which tbf he did acknowledge. I actually think Roberts needs to pick up his game next season. Either Tom or Kahu could easily take his place and be just as effective as him this season.

Its a good point about Wayne liking Opacic through, he loves his attitude and his toughness, and he seems to like one of his centers to be a rugged, defensive type player, although there is a lot more to Tom than that imo.

Yeah if Roberts gets the arse it actually solves all of our positional dilemmas just quietly, and gives us a bit more cap space to sign a veteran prop.

1. Boyd
2. Mead
3. Opacic
4. Kahu
5. Pearson

Bennett is not going to get rid of Roberts. He is just starting to look like he knows what to do in the team.

True, but....depth. And Roberts is responsible for a fair few tries this season (both ways, yes I know). I'm also on the fence, doesn't seem to be typically the sort of person I like at the club but I'm also willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. As a club I can think of a few players we've managed to turn around., though not so much recently. Next year is crunch time for him both on and off the field IMO.

You can nearly rely on Roberts either scoring or setting up a try each week single handily out of nothing (ala hodges). You don't just throw that away for a kid that's solid and like able like Opacic. Opacic will likely have a good future but not in place of Roberts. Unless Roberts decides to leave or something.

If Oates is moving to the middle then I'm happy for Opacic/Pearson/Mead to fight it out for the wing spots. I thought Opacic did well on the wing in his first few games.

I would have Kahu and Roberts in the centres. Kahu has so much to offer.

Chris Garry still thinks we're chasing another outside back, Lolohea & Moga are the 2 names he's constantly mentioning. Moga would be a good depth signing, Lolohea would probably only be a realistic option if Roberts (Or Hunt.. :O) is getting moved along.

We are not getting rid of Hunt for Lolohea... What a fucked idea.

Do you seriously think they would move Hunt on? Wayne loves him.

Even RDJ didn't get THAT high, man.

At the least he is good cover for most of our backline and gives us great flexibility. He plays fullback, wing and we have 3 genuine centres, kahu, Opa and Roberts, now.
Also Roberts knows he can be replaced easily if he ***** up again.

Great signing IMO

So next year, would it most likely be:

1. Boyd
2. Pearson
3. Kahu
4. Roberts
5. Mead
6. Milford
7. Hunt
8. McGuire
9. McCullough
10. Blair
11. Thaiday
12. Gillett
13. Arrow

14. Kikorima
15. TPJ
16. Glenn
17. Oates

18. Opacic
19. Ese'ese
20. Su'A
21. Joffa

As good as Glenn has been off the bench, I really think we are a bit light on there next year. Wallace is a huge loss. Something just seems off about this side, I'm not sure what it is. I also don't like the fact Opacic seems like he has been assigned to depth when he has shown quite a lot so far.

Thoughts?

I think Glenn will start in the backrow in place of Arrow

The problem is no props on the bench. We already have a light forward pack. Playing 3 backrowers and a utility on the bench is just asking for trouble.

If Oates doesn't play wing, I struggle to see a place for him in that side. Though one positive is that we won't be forced to play Glenn or Nikorima in the back line should we get a mid-game injury.

Mead will be a backup winger to start the season. Oates wont be moved yet

I would like this to be the case BUT I just can't believe Mead would have left the Titans where he is a starting player to come to the Broncs to be a reserve grader. It makes me fear he has been given a promise of starting, especially if he is on the low money he is reported to be on and given he was being chased by other clubs.
