Dearden: I'm not going anywhere

What Dearden does is take the line on, commit a defender but can then fire bullet passes either side in front of runners. No coincidence whatsoever the team scored from 4 set plays against Sharks..

Croft does the opposite and ends up passing behind the receiver which means everyone else has to stop and get in position behind a halted receiver..

Its literally night and day the difference.....

In fact, you can make a argument that Crofts no longer needed here and id listen..

Big fan. He reminds me of Hunt before he got the yips. Strong, competitive, gets involved, can defend, very safe. Has a lot of potential to be the best half in the game if we don’t hinder his progress by continuing with a coach who can’t even teach him a set play.

He looks promising, but I haven't seen anywhere near enough to say with confidence that he will turn out to be a good first grader, let alone a great one.

As a half - he'd make a good winger - if he wasn't so small.

I think the majority of the fans here agree that he's our long term halfback. The question for me is who is the five eight? Do we go outside the club to sign an experienced half to mentor him then after that half retires see who is the best option to partner him or do we continue just letting alfie mentor him and use one of our playera we already have to play five eight? If we do decide to let one of the players in the club partner him, is it milf? Croft? Paix? Gamble?

Milford is too inconsistent and simply is taking too much of the cap

Croft couldn't make it in Melbourne a team that thrives on developing their talent and hasn't shown anything to suggest he was worth signing so far.

Paix has been our utility and been training aa our back up hooker. Do we dismiss our hardwork there and just let him have a shot in the halves... Maybe... I'll give him that he may be worth the risk

Gamble...well his name is the best definition of how that could go. Seems like a good player but always going to be the back up option that plays in Qcup.

My personal opinion is very left field but I think Staggs should partner him. He's played in the halves for tonga and has an awesome running game. Could be a brilliant running five eight, he's doing drop outs for us at the moment and our conversion so there is a kicking game we could develop. We haven't seen too much passing though but I'm sure we can develop that, has awesome vision to get himself to the line. Hopefully we can turn that vision into him setting others up as well.

That's my opinion anyway

Hopefully O'sullivan recovers well from his injury. Based on how he was playing prior to injury, he could definitely be an option at 6.

I completely forgot about O'sullivan haha. I like him, he's aggressive and super competitive, kinda wish he was in the side at the moment
