Braith is a name that doesn’t ring a bell at all. I might’ve missed this name between crocodile tear soap operas, Mariners release request & egoistic Hass’s ask for a $M. Who’s this Braith though? You would hope the clubs would contact each other regarding these amateur players managers and send a polite group message telling them that if they don’t respect contracts and rules (ie Haas, Mariner, Braith, Karl) then teams will refuse to deal with them in the future.
Yeah, it doesn'tJAC told me it doesn't

Yeah ex player and fox host Braith Anasta. He’s Cam Munster’s player agentYeah, must be or did he meant Tesi?
The difference is that the Dolphins are targetting players who have only just re-signed months prior on long term deals. Typically when these players are 'tapped' it's because they're on their final year of their contract and they've already signed on with their new club. Or they're on the outer with their club and they work together to orchestrate a deal.I still think it's naive though people think players getting tapped up is something exclusive to the Dolphins. We have done is for years and so has every other team in the comp.

I don't agree with the current system, but at least the club's have some protection (re-sign the player before they become available etc.). The Broncos complied with the system and now another club is blatantly cheating it in plain view.
I'm confident the Dolphins are because it's made it this far to the press. Now you may know of some situation of the past where a club exploited an avenue to game the system but that's between you and your sources. When it's this blatant where anyone who follows the game is aware of it, it needs to be punished accordingly.I personally know of players who signed a contract then got targeted literally weeks after they signed it. We have got somebody at the Broncos right now who was running a rival organisation that approached a recently re-signed player a few years ago. Imo, it doesn't really matter if you go after a player a week or 2 years into their contract. If its an illegal approach then time frame shouldn't matter.
If you are that confident the Dolphins ( or any club for that matter ) are cheating, I'm sure if you passed on who was cheating with the relevant evidence then they would have to get sanctioned by the NRL. At the moment, i'm not seeing a single club in the competition who isnt talking to players they shouldnt be regarding their contracts. Sadly, teams would get left behind if they didnt play the game and every team is smart enough to do it, just some are better at it than others. No matter how much a club wants to try to hold the high ground about it, they are all as guilty as one another. People are kidding themselves if they think one club is worse than another.

The NRL could quite easily tighten the rules around breaking contracts to stop all this crap though.
We know that two clubs now have lodged complaints against the Dolphins for breaking the rules. I don't recall any other club in recent history facing as much scrutiny. I'm sure you could level the same complaints at the Broncos but it's hearsay.Being confident and having proof are two different things though. If its as cut and dried as you think it is then they will be punished for it. Problem you have as well is if you believe the press they arent always the most reliable sources. There are people with very high reputations in the game who will tell you ( and they have in the press ) its something we at the Broncos have been doing for years. And you cant trust the NRL do the right thing either because if they cleared the Broncos for their part ( which they did ), and they then clear the Dolphins, where does that leave everything? In all honesty, we know the Dolphins are 99% certain to have had conversations, and i'd wouldnt be surprised in the least if a fair bit of Karls story is correct as well.

I don't think you can use history as a yard stick Pete.We know that two clubs now have lodged complaints against the Dolphins for breaking the rules. People complain....and counter complain.......about
EVERYTHING
in our current world.
Coercing players to break contracts with promises of better deals. Again, when it's playing out this publically it needs to be adequately investigated and clubs need to be held accountable.I'm still not seeing what rules they have broken.
The thing is, it's typically above board. As I said, the typical scenario is that clubs will sign players for the following season and will then request clubs to release them from their final year. It's a flawed system, but at least clubs know that to avoid this they need to get the deal done before November 1st.Imo, it doesn't really matter if you go after a player a week or 2 years into their contract.
