Dragons Vs. Broncos - Build Up Thread

Sorry I should have posted this here:

When was the last time we beat the Dragons at WIN though?

Same as the last time we beat them anywhere, 2005.

ooooooooft. I can't even begin to remember that game.

Off the top of my head was it night game where Locky almost scored at the end but dropped the ball?

Nah it was a Sunday arvo game early in the season. Won something like 34-26 I think. Leon Bott scored 3 tries. Webcke was unbelievable.

Broncos can win this game but I doubt they will. They have always had problems with any St George team. Now that they have Bennett as coach makes the challenge insurmountable. Add to this the embarrassment of a come from behind win to Canberra last week.
The combination of a bad loss for the Dragons and an excellent and impressive win to the Broncos last week spells real danger to the visiting team at WIN Stadium.
I really think next week against the Cowboys with the return of Israel is when they will make their charge into the semi finals.
They should use this game to trial some plays, sequences, players, whatever and prepare a game plan against St George for the finals. If they try to hit the Dragons head-on and aggressively like Canberra did, they will likely still get beaten but come away with injured players and a dented confidence just two weeks out from the finals.
I still think the Broncos have a real chance in the finals but they have to think and approach things smarter and look at the big picture. There is a great likelihood of the Broncos facing the Dragons in the first week of the finals. That's the game they must prepare for.

Glenn is apparently the only concern with slight ankle strain, my main concern if he is ruled out will be Henjak naming Michaels to replace him... surely he couldn't do that.

This is the 3rd week in a row with the exact same team, and at this time of year it is a real bonus. icon_thumbs_u

Antonio Summerpot *cringe*

He's the left winger. Sailor's a right winger.

Thanks couldnt remember who was where.

Is it just me or do half the broncos on the team look the same?

They do except for Antonio Frankenstein.

He's the one with the bolt protruding out both sides of his head.

I think we're in with a shot.. with guys like Taylor and Thaiday running out wide we've got some real options now, it's not just the backs scoring tries.

Will all depend on whether we aim up in the forwards, get enough possession and a fair share of the penalties.

what has happened to Clinton - I thought he was due back last week or at the latest this week.

Maybe he is on the move out of here and the bench guys do not deserve to be dropped so there is no room for him. I think he should come in for Setu

He came back and go injured against the Raiders (i think) out for 2 more at least with ankle injury.

according to the injury list on the Broncos website due back with Folau in rd 25 (next week)

I really think we can win this game but if we don't I'd be happy if we gave the Dragons a real good run for there money.

Interesting point and I agree to a certain extent. Remember the game against Melbourne in 2006? We lost 18-12 but we really took it to them. This is exactly what you are talking about - I think Dragons will out grind and out muscle us if we try this tactic this week.
On the other hand I think we CAN beat the Dragons with our backline. As good as their defense is, our backline is fire when they are on song. We were flat the last time we took them on but that first try by Folau tells the story IMO.
Need to pray for the weather to be on our side. I reckon we'd be able to get them for sure if it was a sunday arvo game at Suncorp!

IMO, if we beat the Dragons this weekend, i highly doubt we will play the Dragons in week 1 of the finals
