Sorry Morkel, but that is bull****.
Unattached young guys (okay, Boyd shouldn't be there, but who has ever said he has a brain?) getting in a cab with an attractive girl.
What has the world come to!
The Stewart girl thing shows exactly why knee jerk reactions never work out well, and I ****ing hate the prick!
This is for another discussion, but we live in a society where the common sense has gone out the window. Yes, we need to remain vigilant, and yes, we need to protect the weaker elements (women and children in general), but let's also use restraint before tarnishing someone's name and reputation!
Recently, the police was called on a grandpa who took his 6 y/o granddaughter to the beach. Although they didn't expect it, it was an unusually warm day, so grandpa allowed the little girl to take her clothes off to go for a swim, given they didn't take bathers.
Within minutes, the cops were there, called by "concerned" citizens that he might be a paedophile. Seriously, does that look like the MO of a pervert?
What has society come to, that innocent people have to go through shame and accusation, just because there's a chance they might be guilty?
By the way, this is coming from a guy that believes in a more proactive behaviour of justice against people who haven't "broken the law", but are dangerously hovering above it, like stalkers, etc...
And it's also coming from a guy that will get seriously riled up and scream at the TV when watching SVU, and a scumbag looks like getting away with molesting a woman or a child... :blushing:
I 100% agree that society is becoming irrationally overprotective, and there is little in the way of common sense. But this isn't society, this isn't people's private lives, this is a very highly exposed industry, and an internationally exposed event that he's about to participate in. If it was a politician being questioned about taking bribes, and there's an election in a couple of days where one of his his political parties' fundamental policies was about integrity and ethics, would you be happy for him to continue in his role in the meantime? The game just celebrated Women In League round, call it bad timing, unlucky, whatever, but Ben has to suck it up and take his party hat off.
