That's a particularly bad picture, but in others I've seen the face does look like a chick. This is pretty amazing. Apparently she has internal testes, no ovaries and some other plumbing is missing. So she SHOULD have been born a man, however there is a condition whereby her developing cells are immune to the effects of testosterone in the body. As a result she developed female bits and pieces.

She is going to need the internal testes removed and hormonal therapy to help her develop "secondary female sexual characteristics". I will provide a link when it's available.

And even then she won't be able to compete.

I used to have an athlete would was a female (was a national junior champion) and then at like 18 had a sex change and is now a guy; but because the hormones and other drugs he has to take are on the banned list, he can't compete in elite sport.

I really feel sorry for Caster Semenya. I certainly don't believe there was any intention by anyone to cheat the system and she had had gender tests previously (obviously not as extensive as these ones) and she and her family and everyone around her genuinely believed she was female.

There is really no option for her as an elite athlete now - she has far too high levels of testosterone to allow to to compete as a female, and is not physically strong enough to compete against the men.
