Quote from a bulldogs supporter

... we needed to rebuild after all the players leaving my club..
1. Sherwin - 400,000
2. Mason - 450,000
3 SBW - 450 000
4. Maitua - say 300,00
5 Corey Hughes - say 250,000

thats neally half our salary cap all within a year - now tell me, what could we have done, with all our players mass walking out of my club, we have to rebuild.. bought kimmorley to train up barba, hannant and hodgson to train up our juniour forwards, like john kite, worsley conrad t.....

She has a point...

Not to mention that the Roosters also took Anasta, Myles and O'Meley. Once the Sydney Roosters became the Sydney Bulldogs, they needed a new mascot. We should really be flattered they choose us icon_thumbs_u

She does have a point, except Maitua, Mason and Sherwin are grossly exaggerated in her quote.

Also, look at the list of who is currently off contract with the Dogs this year;

Jamie Clark
Brent Crisp
Hasem El Masri
Jake Foster
Daniel Holdsworth

Rhys Jack
Charlie Laeano
Daryl Millard
Tristan Nisbet
Chevvy Penehoe
Liam Roach
Ben Roberts
Andrew Ryan
Michael Sullivan

Conrad Ta'akimoeka
Justin Tsoulos
Matthew Utai
Danny Williams
Robert Worsley

Not that many big names there, but a heap of names. The bolded would be on decent coin.

Who is Jake Foster and why would he be on good coin?

lolz, he's te guy who got bolded because I was overzealous with the mouse.

Eastwood would have been much better to keep rather than purchasing Te'o

I don't like the fact we lost Eastwood either but to write Te'o off after 1 game seems a bit narrow-minded? Especially if you believe the rumours that he left because he was scared of being pushed to hard by Benton

Holdsworth would be on jack s##t, he has no rep duties to speak of and has never played to near a level to warrant big money. Sullivan wouldn't be on a great deal from what I gather he was happy to take whatever he could get after clearing his gambling debts in England.

Yeah, I remember hearing that the last time Holdsworth re-signed (2 or 3 years ago?) was for about 30K a season.

That's about $29,990 too much IMO. (I left the $10 in, a fella should be able to at least buy a beer or two)

I heard there is a Four & Twenty factory in Bankstown.

Every news bulletin I heard today mentioned "Former Broncos prop Greg Eastwood". Prop?

Yeh I agree

Maybe they got the words lock and prop mixed up, they sort of rhyme.

Never played prop for us, he played wing though was was interesting [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1. Funnily enough we won that game!

Maybe he's put on more weight. Too many cheeseburgers?

You guys kill me, very witty. I saw Eastwood on the news, I am scared he has eaten one of his family, boy he is big. But he says he is right to go this weekend if needed, that I would love to see.

Look at it this way, I have a real interest in following a number of teams this year. I will follow the Bulldogs because of Hannant, Eastwood, Ennis and Stagg, ditto for Warriors with Denan Kemp, Tatey and Moon, and ditto with St George because of Benny and Darius Boyd. Just means more games to watch for me which is a good thing (but a bad thing for the missus lol).

He looks like he's digging into the Beta Blockers. That or eating small children.

He looks like he should apply to be a contestant on the biggest loser.

I don't know that Sherwin would be all that exaggerated. I remember when he signed a 5 year deal, it was for a huge (and completely ridiculous for someone like Sherwin) amount of money.
