Eastwood signs with the Dogs

For a premiership winning halfback? People forget that he was pretty good back then for a few seasons.

it's probably why every news article on Eastwood signing with the Bulldogs is referring to Eastwood as a "former Broncos prop" [icon_lol1.

Look at it this way, I have a real interest in following a number of teams this year. I will follow the Bulldogs because of Hannant, Eastwood, Ennis and Stagg, ditto for Warriors with Denan Kemp, Tatey and Moon, and ditto with St George because of Benny and Darius Boyd. Just means more games to watch for me which is a good thing (but a bad thing for the missus lol).

Very true I'm doing exactly the same thing! Gonna be a good year of footy! obviously besides the Broncs I wouldn't mind seein the Warriors take out the comp, could do big things for the growth of the game in NZ as well.

Warriors have always been awesome. Would love to see them win it.

But growth in NZ? I would say NZ has better support for league than Sydney does. When kids are young, they play union or league. They grow up, they play union or league.

And over there, the majority of Union supports respect League supporters, and vice versa. Not like here where it's a big debate on which is better.

I just heard that the dogs are about to announce they've released Kouparitsas to make room for Fatwood.

The Bulldogs were in frantic talks with English side Leeds and the NRL Thursday night after it emerged key recruit Greg Eastwood could be prevented from making his debut for the club this weekend.

Eastwood was paraded before the media on Wednesday after agreeing to a three-year deal with the Bulldogs.

He was expected to make his debut against Penrith at CUA Stadium.

However, those plans were thrown into doubt after the NRL refused to register his contract on the grounds Eastwood still had a deal with Leeds.

So he can't play in the UK Super League and now it seems he can't play in the NRL either. eusa_think

But it is stupid. Eastwood has (as far as I know) modified his agreement with Leeds such that he can join there in the offseason if visa issues change, but otherwise he's free to play in the NRL!

He will go Leeds after one season at the dogs if the visa pulls through - Dogs were OK with it - They are really looking to make the 8 this year - I think it is important for THEM that they do.

It seems he played (and scored a try) tonight

How can it seem that? [icon_lol1.

He either did or he didn't! [icon_razz1

Foordy probably looked at the internet scores on Fox Sports which has Eastwood scoring a try...but then, Fox Sports have been wrong before.
