Greg Eastwood has become the latest player to join the Bulldogs, today agreeing to a three year deal.

A crucial figure in the Kiwi's World Cup success, the athletic forward came with strong recommendations from his former Broncos team mates who are now also at the Bulldogs.

Eastwood, who turned 22 earlier this week, will begin training with the Bulldogs immediately, with coach Kevin Moore saying he looks forward to him being a long term option for the Club.

"Greg is a class player, he's only young and I think he has a big future with us," Moore said. "He'll bring an explosive attacking factor to our game which should complement the forward pack we currently have.

"We met with him last week and he looked in good condition so I expect that he won't be too far off being available for selection."

With visa restrictions preventing him from taking up a three year deal with the Leeds Rhinos Eastwood is glad to have his future secure and to return to a team environment after spending the past few months training by himself on the Gold Coast.

"The Bulldogs are a great option for me, I'm looking forward to joining the boys and getting stuck in," Eastwood said.

"I've obviously got quite a few mates there already and they've been really positive about what the future holds."

Final paperwork, release documentation and execution of contract will be completed within the next 24 hours.

Eastwood has appealed the decision to reject his visa application, if the appeal is successful he will have the option of taking up the deal with the Rhinos at the conclusion of the Bulldogs 2009 Premiership season.

Surely after signing Eastwood they have used up every cent of their cap.... if they sign anymore of our players i'll be making an anonymous call to the Salary cap auditor [icon_razz1

Arent they still after Crocker? If so and they get him too it will be completely ridiculous!!

Surely Dunny Bill wasnt on 2mill of their salary cap haha

I find it disappointing we've let one of our players go to play in England, only for it not to work out to the benefit of another NRL team.

Agreed. However, if the Broncos didn't put the clause into the agreement, nothing we can do.

From my mate:

I guess it is the circle of life.. Bulldogs breed em... Roosters buy them.. Broncos Breed them... Bulldogs buy em... Roosters breed em.. Broncos buy em..

lol

Quote from a bulldogs supporter

... we needed to rebuild after all the players leaving my club..
1. Sherwin - 400,000
2. Mason - 450,000
3 SBW - 450 000
4. Maitua - say 300,00
5 Corey Hughes - say 250,000

thats neally half our salary cap all within a year - now tell me, what could we have done, with all our players mass walking out of my club, we have to rebuild.. bought kimmorley to train up barba, hannant and hodgson to train up our juniour forwards, like john kite, worsley conrad t.....

She has a point...

Why wait. Call them now.

Really shits me that the Broncos continue to lose players and yet they buy piles of crap like Te'o, Sims, Clinton and Marsh... Eastwood would have been much better to keep rather than purchasing Te'o

Losing SBW is the best thing that ever happened to that club. With the team they have now assembled if they don't make the 8, Moore should be flicked, seriously.

Wish I could find one of those bulldogs shirts from a couple years ago that read "Bulldogs - Bred not Bought".... would be classic to wear that to a Broncs v Dogs game!! Must be on Ebay somewhere, I was sure I saw one about 2 seasons ago durring the whole roosters player raid saga

Brisbane is so great David Gallop has let us have to teams!!!

Perhaps they could take the $10 million NRL relocation package and just move up here! Their players would probebly prefer to be closer to home anyway!

They have a massive supporter base in Brisbane, so I don't see a move being out of the Question :P
