Probably. Who cares though?

Berro was sh*t. icon_thumbs_u

Shit? Berrigan wasn't the flashiest player but calling him shit is just stupid dude. He was outstanding for us and for Queensland on many occasions.

Yeah fair call. He was a solid player. Nothing flashy but he got the hard metres.

Just one particular member used to talk him up a little too much. It was like "meh he ain't THAT good". It got very tiresome. I think I got used to reading it so much on here that my thought process towards him became tarnished forever. [icon_lol1.

That tattoo.. [icon_non

You have to learn to ignore the shitheads on here until the admins get sick of them and send them on Holidays for good ala HodgoBerro.

To be honest it's the same with a lot of people and footy players though. Certain females talk up islander players too much because fobs make their box tingle. It's annoying but I suppose you just have to put up with it sometimes.

Haha.

I don't really mind. Such posters can be good entertainment value.

Speaking of islander appreciators, where did Wally get to?

She's probably getting a leg over with her islander boyfriend

doing it like they do on a rammstein video ;)

Yes, he did look a bit islander.

I wonder how Chinchilla is going?

It's crap that most Melbourne don't know about the storm. They would have to be blind. When I was in Melbourne there were Trams with Melbourne Storm all over them, there were flags, flyers everywhere you go in the city, and they were in the news papers...also, plenty of Melbourne Storm beanies to be bought in every sports store...

Also, the ratings are just in, Melbourne had more viewers of the GF than Brisbane.

The largest audiences for the Storm and Eels showdown were in Sydney, where just over 1.16 million watched, followed by Melbourne (682,000) and Brisbane (563,000).

What's Melbourne's population, 3 million? Brisbane's is what, 1.5 million?

I wish they wouldn't quote the numbers as much as the percentages.
Does it matter? That's still 682,000 people....that's a pretty good percentage considering Melbourne is supposed to "not know about the Storm"

Mmmm, obviously they only rate 2nd on the radar, everyone in Melbourne has their AFL tickets.

I watch the AFL Grand Final and the Lions finals, but I don't go to a game. I've been to one lions game in my life....Same deal I suppose.

oh and did anyone else notice that Moimois try was basically a carbon copy of Carl Webbs epic SOO try in 2001?

I'm sure Moi Moi will find it re-assuring that he'll sign a big contract at another club and become a nuffy in a couple of years

They rate abpout 10th, Melb got mobbed at the airport by their 10 fans [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1. how pathetic.

Well they have the trophy so I dont think they really care

Neither do I. I get the feeling they love flying under the radar. Of the 11,000 or whatever the average crowd figure has been per season, the supporters who show up are the same supporters every week. Same flags, same banner displays.. same cowbell. [icon_wink

In a state where AFL has been the nummer eins forever, Melbourne can't expect to take the city by storm. Even after being in the competition for 12 years. As a club, they know this and you can't force it upon the public.

They have a smallish fan base, but the fans they have are passionate and are there week in, week out. These fans are intelligent enough to follow the game of Rugby League and Melbourne's priority should be to lavishly look after these supporters who have been there through thick and thin.

Treat the loyal and smart sports follower with respect and they will come back. Word of mouth spreads amazingly well too. I know it's all about bums on seats, but I'd much rather have a 11,000 strong group of fans who loyally attend the games and are 100% vocally and emotionally behind the team than a stadium full of nuffies who are just making the attendance figure look impressive but really couldn't give two hoots. This is on display at Suncorp each week.

Billy Slater has said many times, for example, that he enjoys the Melbourne isolated and not candid lifestyle.

All those who are involved in the club know they have a special thing going here and those who want to see it live in Melbourne and know what's good for them will. Make the best of what you have, work your arses off all season and respect every facet of your football club. That's why they are such a successful team for their 12 year history. 4 consecutive grand finals is evidence of this.

Their crowds will improve next year. Fans will want to go to the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium. It's made for rugby league. I saw it just last weekend and it's going to look sensational.

The cowbell is rung by that stupid storm mascot man.

And silence is right. Their fans are rabid and loyal to the nth degree! Having witnessed it myself this year. They put us Broncos fans to shame really....

Is this sarcasm?

I'm assuming it is.

Thanks for informing me of the cowbell ringer. I must say, it definately takes some of the shine off the crowd's supposed awesomeness. [icon_wink

Well of course you did Steve. [icon_wink
