FOOTBALL English Premier League 23/24 Discussion

Wolves have been annoyingly poor against a poor united side. Lucky we aren't 3 or 4 down really.

Never a penalty imo, but about time we got a VAR decision go our way

3-3 now. Don't really deserve it, but I'll take it.

United should have had the game put to absolute bed, but story of the season nearly found a way to drop points.

Mainoo with a great goal to win it will be huge for his confidence.

In saying that, I just cba with VAR and pens anymore. Wolves deserved a call finally so it is what it is and we won in the end which certainly helps ease the annoyance, but holy fucking inconsistent on these penalties. Its fucking ridiculous.

I thought United deserved the win, but its a bit worrying for them as it was by a long way our worst performance of the season and we still managed to put 3 goals past them without a recognised striker. I still dont think it was a penalty to us, the contact was there but it was very soft.

Listening to an English phone in this morning after the game and i was surprised how many United fans were complaining about the inclusion of Rashford. The jist of it was basically him playing was everything that is wrong with the culture of the club. A player can lie about being ill and cant train, disrespects the club and goes out partying yet all he gets is a 2 week fine. While it is a lot of money, in the scheme of things thats not really going to have much impact on a bloke who earns about $500k a week.

haha i watched the last 15mins of the wolves game and was cheering when neto equalized
but god damn mainoo, beats 2, bends it into the far corner. what a moment for the kid, had to smile at that even as a pool fan.

At this point, as worrying as it is, 4 goals and an away win is improvement. Small steps.

The more worrying sign for me still, is how one 70th min penalty, became 3 goals against so easily. Heads gone fc..

Rashford was always going to play, I'm not sure why anyone was surprised, especially after ETH comments yesterday advising the issue was dealt with.

Theres a couple of options...

You suspend and don't play Rashford with the intention to sell in the summer, and his already dwindling appeal to other clubs further disappears and you end up paying him to leave.

You play him with the possibility of selling or looking to sell in the summer, and you hope he finds form and possibly get a little extra for him from someone.

Option 2 lets you keep him if you really want as well.

Interesting time ahead, summer window should be very interesting one way or another.

Must admit, i tend to agree with the United fans i was listening to. You arent turning around the culture at old trafford by simply fining extremely wealthy footballers. Rashford is a repeat offender. Seems so odd to me the stance they have taken with the likes of Sancho and Ronaldo but they seem to give Rashford a free pass.

I do think they are going to have to take some financial hits to move players on at united now. First and foremost, they really need a no dickheads policy. I think the United fans are just a bit sick of the poor culture there now. Ragnick bought it up when he was there, but i dont think the Glazers fancied losing so much money on players trying to turn it all around.

First game I've been able to watch for a bit, nice to get the win against a very spirited Wolves side. I knew they were going to make a comeback even when we went 3-1 up.

Iit's a game we would have lost not long ago so hopefully it's sign of improvement, but I'm not holding my breath.

Kobbie Mainoo has been a real shining light for United this year, the composure and skill he showed to land that winner and the way he holds himself in the midfield, he's going to be a special player in the future. Hopefully United don't **** it up and keep him for the long haul.

For the record, I think he should be sold.

But from an asset standpoint and trying to get the most value for him, I understand him playing.

Rashford absolutely does get special treatment as well, his outrageous contracts paying him as one of the world's best, most consistent players highlights just that. United have boxed themselves into a corner with his contract, paying him as if he is the face of the club.

Comparing it to Sancho, I honestly think if Sancho just didn't tweet or deleted his tweet he'd still be here and would have just been added to the list to be sold in summer. He didn't want to do this, and realistically he has shown next to nothing since he has been here so they found him a loan move rather than trying to work it out.

Couldn't agree more with you on your points about no dickheads though.

From what I'm hearing, Ratcliffe wants to sell Rashford.

Ratcliffe and Ten Hag are trying to change the culture at the club and it doesn't help when your star player is out at a nightclub getting pissed before a game and is too hungover to train. The sheer disrespect from Rashford there...

It looks like there's a couple of clubs willing to pay really well for Rashford so it would be interesting to see what happens in the next transfer window. I think Rashford has until the end of the season to show why he should remain at the club and if he continues to do what he's been doing, he's gone.

What a match Luton vs Newcastle was.

Couple of teams around/above United in spurs and newcastle dropping points, vital they beat West Ham tonight to try and close the gap on Spurs.

Man what a pic this is.. a future trio to build around.

Important 3 points at home. Far from perfect, but did some things well. Rasmus took his goal beautifully. Desperately hoping Licha's injury isn't serious. So unfortunate to for someone to fall on his leg that way after just coming back..

Now since we've won, Chelsea's been fisted at home and I'm feeling happy, going to ruin my Monday at work by staying up to watch Arsenal vs Liverpool 🙃

Good win, you guys were the better side on the night to be fair.

As soon as I saw our line up I knew we were in strife haha missing a few too many players. We ended up gifting you the win.

Shout out to Jorginho, thought he was easily MOTM.
