FOOTBALL English Premier League 23/24 Discussion

Amorim is a good manager, but at the same time, i'm not sure he's a United manager. He's clearly being pushed into the job by Jorge Mendes.

That was quick... is he starting immediately or next season??

Starting immediately. There has been mention that he can't start until November 24 because his release clause includes a notice period, but United are apparently going to pay compensation to allow him to start straight away.

Ruud will be in charge for the Leicester game but after that it should be Amorim.

I hope he tries to play three at the back and a high line with their current crop of defenders.

It looks like Amorim will use a 3-4-2-1 formation.

I like the look of this. Mazroui for Shaw as he's always fucking injured.

He arguably played his best football under Amorim. I don't see any reason why he would struggle to fit his system.
Fair point. I just don't think he suits a double pivot, at least not in the prem where the game is considerably quicker than Portugal.

I will be intrigued to see if he can work next to Mainoo, given neither are great at progressing the ball. Morita was that guy at Sporting and we saw for England that it isn't Mainoo's game.

I rate the appointment, he's the best option available and obviously a talented manager. It gives hope to United fans but I still cant help but feel it's what happens above him that really matters.

What's the plan with him anyway?

Surely Amorim won't keep him around, nor would you think Ruud wants to stay.

He's not expected to stay. Going back to Netherlands I believe.

I believe he only came to United because of Ten Hag and Amorim wants to use his own coaches.

4 goals in the first half for United. Casemiro with a double. Playing with plenty of confidence.

These players downed tools for ten Hag.

Or it could just be one of the poorer sides in the league made 10 changes and basically played their reserve team against a pretty strong United side.

United win and City lose. Good morning.

Tottenham did well to hang on against City.

Looks like Ruud will be in charge for the Chelsea game. That's expected to be his final game in charge, though.
