FOOTBALL English Premier League 25/26 Discussion

Is 'bin dippers' really a phrase to use in this day and age?

Wirtz is the absolute least of our worries - in fact, he's been one of the shining lights this season, along with Ekitike.

Yep! The scousers always get called called that. Bit like the Welsh/Kiwis being known as sheep shaggers etc.

I think Wirtz has been underwhelming for the money paid for him, but he hasnt exactly been poor. Scoring against us though isnt a good barometer. Saw a comment that made me laugh earlier that scoring your first goal against Wolves is like losing your virginity to a prostitute.

I think the point @Brocko was making though there would be a lot more criticism of him if he had signed for United from some people.

Yes, I'm aware of the term - it originated as a means of poking fun at people who were poor and impoverished. Doesn't seem so funny to me, but I'll bow out if people think it's still a good term to use in 2025.

Plenty of areas get the same treatment, its not specific to Mersyside. Nobody really takes it particularly seriously in football terms. It generally doesnt offend people at the football , not like when the Liverpool fans sing about the Man united players dying in 1958 or the Hiilsborough chants from the red side of manchester. Thats pretty scummy.

Any Liverpool fan singing shite like that isn't a Liverpool fan at all in my book.

What a miserable first half vs Wolves this has been, with our trademark end of half goal conceded too.

Just seen the Chelsea pen vs Bournemouth. 😂

Just so frustrating this. Wolves look more likely to win it than we do and have played better. Embarrassing.

Its like Amorim has felt the need, after playing 4atb for 1st half against NUFC, and playing okay, to go back to his system at all costs. But realistically, it was shit in 2nd half vs Newcastle, and at times has been a 5atb with 2 DMs vs Wolves at home..

I know we are missing some creative AMs, Mount/Bruno injured and Mbuemo/Amad at Afcon, but this has been a joke.

He even named the side as a 4atb and then hasnt played that way.

Considering we had 1 fit midfielder, missing our best defender and central midfielder and had a lightweight, wide attacking player in central midfield down to nobody else being fit, it was a decent point really.

Wolves charging to safety now. Knew they were good and it was a good point the other day!

I am convinced there is not a single thing Dalot is good at currently.

Every time he misplaces a simple pass, holds the ball too long, or saunters across the ptich to take a trademark shit long throw that never has the required distance on it, I just feel anger.

Dalot gives it away cheaply, chipped ball in behind and cbs dont react. 1-0

Another vomit worthy 1-1.

The state of the bench 😂 Players were all ****ed at 90 as theres nobody to bring on.

Well Amorim's taken pot shots at the board so I assume we'll be enjoying the Darren Fletcher coaching experience soon enough..

Hire a new age 'hipster' manager who plays a formation that doesnt suit the players at his disposal at all, and that helped get 2 or 3 managers before him sacked. Promise him the chance to turn the squad over, which would obviously be needed when playing this system.

Results and performance of course do not improve as these players cannot or don't want to play the system, and the manager who's main style/formation his whole career has been a 3atb, is now asked to play 4atb, and work with what he's got only. You ignore obvious deficiencies in midfield up front and wingback that he highlights, and give him another 'young' project striker, not the finished article, and more 10s, a position where our best player by a mile plays becuase they fit the new age profile the club wants and are good prem players, ignoring how they would fit the managers system, or what players are already their that they cant get rid of.

This club does my head in. Amorim is not free of fault, of course, but he never stood a chance.

So another manager that will come in and want all new strikers and wingers, and the midfield will be ignored again... then he'll be sacked by his third season when he would finally be looking to recruit a midfielder and the whole ****ing merry-go-round starts again
