PLAYER Ezra Mam

Just saw an article saying how lenient Ezra’s suspension is compared to recent suspensions then go on to name Spencer, Pearce, Carney etc rather than the most obvious recent in Trindall. Standard rugby league journalism.

I was wondering who in recent times has been suspended for longer than 9 weeks?? (That's not ASADA drug related)

Spencer was 8
Pearce was 8 (I think?)
Carney sacked after about a million previous incidents

James Graham 12 matches in 2012 for biting Billy Slater and Travis Burns 12 matches for a high tackle and chicken wing in the same game also in 2012. Travis never played NRL again.
Longest was Danny Williams 2004 - 18 matches for a king hit on Mark O'Neill.

Was thinking more about off field incidents where the NRL have complete control on how long to suspend rather than reportable incidents where they have the judiciary.

I've been watching the commentary on Esra's accident and I can't help to think that it happened at a time that was needed to probably force him to pull his head in..
It was becoming increasingly obvious that he was thinking how easy life as a footballer was . I feel sorry for the other people involved in the accident and I know if it had been my family that I would have been absolutely livid..
Even though I didn't really want Esra sacked ,I still want him to pay dearly for his stupidity.
Like many on here, I'm hoping that this episode in his life will rein him in to a bit of life reality. I have no doubt he has a tough period in front of him, which is fully deserved in my books.
How he responds moving forward will be the true indication as to whether he has truly learned a life's lesson or whether he's another idiot with talent but no brains..
I would be happy to see him spend time in Qld cup to further realise the extent of his irresponsible behaviour.
Unfortunately I think the whole squad will now suffer some consequences of his actions as I'm sure Madge would have drawn a line in the sand as to what is expected of a Broncos player.
I'm sure Ben Hunt returning will also drive behavioural standards which to an outsider looks to be sorely needed.
Time will tell I suppose but I am really looking so forward to this season which to be honest, I haven't for a long time..
GO BRONCOS .

Norman got 8 weeks for running a chemist out of his pocket.

Wighton got 10 matches for carrying on.
