are you $hitting me? i love gillett as much as the next Broncos supporter, but if he even got remotely close to Carnes votes then it really shows how little the voters know, and/or how young most of them are.

Young. That'd be it. People will naturally vote for the players they most remember, and so it's no surprise players of the past decade have scored better than the players of the 90s (except the real superstars like Langer and Walters).

i was honestly shocked in the 'favourite premiership year' thread to see how it seemed like the large majority of posters hadnt even been watching rugby league in 2000, so i guess i shouldve expected some weird choices in here lol. hell, half of them probably have Shane Perry down as our greatest halfback of all time [icon_lol1.

There are so many close calls - am I to pick my favorite - or the better player?

I'm shocked too at the Carne one. I suppose not everyone here watched him play. I love Gillet - but Carne was awesome. Hopefully, Gillet will be as equally awesome in years to come.

Well it has nothing to do with "how little voters know" because this thread is about your "favourite" bronco of all time, not the "best" bronco of all time. [icon_wink

And did you know that Willie Carne retired in 1996? That was 14 years ago. Even if you're 20 years old, you probably wouldn't remember him playing.

Precisely.

I'm 20 years old, and I'm not going to pretend I watched Carne play week in, week out. Sure I've seen some highlights and the odd 'classic' match here and there, but that's not enough to put him ahead of players I've been watching each week for the past 10 years.
