Finals scenarios

NRL gets all the revenue from the finals so I expect they'd have some say.

i think all they could do is ask the clubs to allow the game to be moved...

Yep, pretty sure they did that a few years back with the Broncos and Cowboys. The club had to agree to move it.

I remember that since it was the Broncos vrs Cowboys, the NRL did move it from Sydney for obvious reasons. (the stadium agreed for the Move). I also remember everyone praising the Broncos for allowing the game to be played in Townsville rather than Brisbane. Furthermore, i also remememer us losing 10-0 [icon_frown

And there's no way in hell the Titans will want it moved from Skilled Park.

Yeah they'll keep it at Skilled Park. They play well there. Even though we haven't won there before I doubt the ground holds any fears for us. I give us a good chance of winning if that's how it pans out. Having said that our spot in the 8 still isn't secured.

Finishing 4th or 5th would be ideal because I can see upsets happening in week one of the finals so there is a distinct possibility we would get a week off. Titans look shaky and so do the Dragons and the Bulldogs aren't setting the world on fire either.

Although a finals game at Suncorp would be orsm (crowd-wise and revenue-wise), I don't think the Titans will give up a finals game in Skilled Park. They have a great record at home and who wouldn't want a finals game at home?

Kudos to Coxy's procrastination (and nerdiness). Now I know all the scenarios!

Lets just finish 4th so we can forget all this bullshit :)

I couldn't believe it when someone on the radio said we could finish 4th now, but looking at those scenarios if we win both remaining games it's certainly more than possible, in fact wouldn't surprise in the least to get one of those combinations of results. We can beat the Cows the way they're going, I just can't believe the way everyone's saying beating the Raiders will be much easier in comparison. Their forward pack OWNED the Dragons the week before we beat them, and I think I also remember the score last time we played them not so long ago...

I just hope we do beat the Cows, that would set up a massive clash with the in-form Raiders in the last round with everything to play for. Should be great to see.

raiders may very well c ome into the game in the last round with the last score in their heads, as will brisbane

you really think Lockyer is gonna let that happen again :P

I think that the Raiders will come into the game very wary of the Broncos' form turnaround and wary of them being pretty up for it, and will give us a hard game. I think with the form reversal and the home venue the Broncs should win, I just don't think it's gonna be as easy as everyone thinks.

I think the Raiders players will be too concerned about what to wear for Mad Monday to cause us too many major concerns.

Here's an interesting situation.

TAB lists Broncos at $15 to win the title, but even better than that, $26 to make the top four. I can see that happening - Broncs win the next two games, the Titans keeping Manly out, and the Storm struggle. May have to dig some change out from the glovebox and head up to the pub.

And then, if you had a multi on Broncos premiers/Broncos Top 4/Bulldogs minor premiers the combined odds are $1033. LOLZ! I'd stick a hundred on that if I was a gambling man.

Out of Interest, what night /day will each finals game be played on?

Is it 4 v 5 on Friday Night- 2 v 7 & 3 v 6 Sat Night and then 1 v 8 Sunday?

That's what it's been in previous years. Haven't heard that it will be any different this time around.

If we're fair dinkum about 2009 we should win both remaining games.

For Broncos to finish 9th:
1. Win 1 game. 2 out of Penrith, Parramatta and Tigers win both games.
--------------------
So seeing as Penrith have lost a game now the only possible way for the Broncos to miss the 8 is if they lose next week and Para win next week and Tigers win this week and next? OR did all 3 teams have to win both games meaning the Broncos are now guaranteed a spot in the 8?

Tigers had to win last night to have a chance of pushing the Broncos out. Worst we can finish is 8th.

I want to finish 7th now, the Dragons are sitting ducks!
