Finals scenarios

next weeks games that could impact our finals scenario. (my tips in bold)

Dragons Vrs Eels
Storm Vrs Warriors
Sea Eagles Vrs Titans
Broncos Vrs Raiders
Knights Vrs Panthers

that means the final 8 will be:

1. Bulldogs
2. Titans
3. Dragons
4. Storm
5. Knights
6. Broncos
7. Eels
8. Sea Eagles

and the Broncos would play the Saints in week one, and even though they are out of form it is a danger game for us

If we win next week we will finish ahead of the knights, which would have us in 5th on your list I think.

My list takes into account the Knights beating the Raiders tonight, which is what i tipped

Raiders win throws the Tigers and Panthers back in the mix. The scenarios are endless.

Nah only the Panthers are a chance as the Panthers play the Knights next week so win/lose/draw one of the Panthers or Knights will finish ahead of the Tigers.

It's amazing that no team's position in the final 8 is assured with one round remaining. Broncos could finish as high as 4 and as low as 8!

If we are a genuine title contender, it really shouldn't matter who we play in the first week.

Agree OXY. But I don't think it matters who you are, you can have an off day and so you'd want to give yourself the best chance of surviving if that were to happen.

Panthers win but are stripped of the 2 points for fielding an extra man, Tigers win and get in on for and against [icon_shady

Correct - however, I'm one of those people who think the first week of the finals is nothing but a mere waste of time that gives a CHANCE for 7th and 8th to beat 1st and 2nd which is just ludicrous! (/rant)

Therefore - I think versing an easy team (or easiest) is the way to go for week 1. Even worse is you don't want injuries out of this game..... zzzZZZzzz...

So no better than 5th now. I'd prefer to play titans at skilled than storm in melbourne.

I'd rather us play Melbourne in week 1 of the finals. That way if we lose (coming 5th), we're not as likely to be eliminated whereas if we don't play them in week 1, we'd probably have to face them in a do-or-die clash in week 2. I think playing Storm week 1 and Titans week 2 give us a better chance of making it through to week 3 than the other way round.

At this stage with storm winning and titans looking like losing we will play the tits when we beat the raiders.
