POST GAME [Finals Week 1, 2023] Broncos vs Storm

Great win. I was quite worried NAS was going to injure someone tonight...
Also how does Aitken let them play at the ball in the scrum from front row.
Yeah that scrum call was a mistake from the ref. I doubt he has experienced it much, and probably forgot to watch for it or what the rule was. Ref did well considering the intensity, crowd noise, all the early push and shove. Shit happens and it was good that it was not impacting the game much in the end.

just on the Melbourne winning the scrum against the feed. was that even a legal play. because Paps, who packed in at prop struck at the ball with his foot. i didn't think you could do that from the prop position

I know plenty will disagree with me, and I'll admit it's not the most gracious take on the topic. But I'm comfortable with my stance, the more I think of the risks that Bellamy has been taking with players (while he sits in the comfort of his fogged up coaches box), the more I consider him a cancer on the game. @I bleed Maroon is right, his "competitiveness" has been applauded when people really should be looking at how far lines should be crossed.
100% Bellamy and his FUCKING ego greater this situation. I’ve said the exact thing on several group chats. Well said.

Not a legal play, and to play a bit of devil's advocate, a couple of the Broncos tries were borderline obstructions. I do like that they are pushing those limits, but a Klown might call some of those back and it's Melbourne having the ball at halfway.

I like Fatty as a commentator but he was poor with his commentary tonight.

When Walsh was taken out mid-air, Fatty says "what is Papenhausen supposed to do, just stand there until he lands back on the ground???". Um, yeah. That is the exact rule, Paul.

And later, "The Broncos' defence just meant that the Storm didn't have many opportunities", despite moments earlier the stats showing the Storm had had more tackles in the opposition's 20 than we'd had...

What a way to break the hoodoo. One of the commentators summed it up when they said that the Broncos forwards took a baseball bat to the Storm in the first ten minutes of the game and they never recovered from it.

Possibly career over for paps and what was the Storm coaching staff doing having a guy of his size with just a handful of games in a lower grade and back from a long term injury doing playing in the middle of the field?

Get it into you Bellamy and one of the best parts of the game for me was Bellamy losing his shit in the box.

Thought Reece caught it behind Jordan on his try. Was sure they'd call it back.

I love oates but he has the turning circle of the titanic and can be susceptible to kicks behind the line and struggle if the opposition gets on the outside.

Kevie may be prioritising that.
Oates will forever be a legend but I just feel Arthars is so safe under the high ball and in defence that Kevvie has no choice but to select him. Teams love kicking to Oates but will think twice kicking to Arthars.
