POST GAME Finals Week 1 - Broncos vs Titans

Tonight I saw improvement on last week, which makes me confident we will improve again next week... Don't know if it will be enough though. fingers crossed we haven't picked up any injuries and that Roberts some how gets off, we're going to need everything to go our way this week

Ash Taylor doesn't have much luck playing at Suncorp

My angle was that yes, we were patchy. But we were frustrated by a desparate Titans side.

Yeah, credit where it's due. A lot of people had them for the spoon but they pushed a lot of the better teams. I had them penciled in for the bottom 8 personally. Surprised me for sure.

Positives:
Milford looks to be finding good form in attack again
Kahu has been going well
Roberts and Oates are dangerous with the ball in hand
Hunt is just a little fighter
McCullough is going pretty well
Boyd is mostly going well
Wallace has been immense off the bench, as has Glenn

Negatives
Oates still has feet for hands
Pearson had a poor game
Milford's defence is still awful
There just seems to be a lack of real motivation in the side most of the time
Thaiday's pass almost swung the momentum just before half time

We'll need to do a LOT better next week.

Pearson didn't have a poor game. He didn't have any opportunities and the ball he dropped he was pushed and it should have a penalty to us.

Good wins boys. Pity Roberts will definitely get suspended.

I don't use Twitter, would love someone to give him a spray. His commentary was appalling (as it always is when he likes or hates a side that is playing) and not up to the standards expected by professional commentators who are paid handsomely to be exactly the opposite - unbiased.

Agreed completely and when he was required, he did his job. Some of his defense was excellent.

we certainly had a few calls go our way tonight ... but it's about bloody time, given some of the disgraceful calls that have gone against us this season.

many of the "contentions" or "controversial" calls that the media are saying cost the Titans were actually the correct calls as far as the rule book is concerned ... but i forgot, they are supposed to do the opposite of the rules instead of ruling in our favor

Yeah it one made some solid one on one hits. I would personally leaving him on the wing this year and make him the regular next year and let him develop. Just needs time in the NRL to flourish.

The refereeing was abysmal (Kahu's penalty try aside) and we definitely benefited from it. Titan's grew another leg that first half and it was shaping up to be a classic game but the ref's sucked a lot of fun out of it in my opinion.

Eventually the Titans just didnt have the lungs to hold us out. Partly due to us playing better the second half, partly due to the Titans inexperience, and partly due to some shockers from the ref's that kept gifting us position.

Bring on next week!!

It went the way I expected. The Titans came out to play and gave it a good go in the first half but our class and experience showed and we went on to run away with the game in the second half. I find it a bit hard to believe that we were actually behind at half time. It was still not a perfect performance and we will be flat out winning away against the Storm or Cowboys next week. On the positives I felt we did a great job limiting the impact of Ryan James who has been their most dangerous forward this year and we took Hayne out of the game in the second half once we pressured him and the Titans halves. To score 44 points in slippery conditions also shows we can at least get over the try line.

Some very poor referring decisions especially the penalty we got after Oates went down as that Titans bloke was just simply going for the ball but what can you do.
