can't see us getting off scott free.

While the 50/50 calls went our way for a change I actually thought the Titans were lucky not to get a player sent to the bin a couple of times for professional fouls. I also thought Pearson did a good job. They tried a few times to get him to come in off his wing but his defensive reads were spot on. I was more impressed with him last night than his debut. In a high pressure game they tested him and for mine he passed.

Does anybody know the what day the round between Elimination Final winner (Broncos) and the Qualifying loser (Storm or Cowboys) will be played?

I've got the entire weekend by myself and wanted to fly out the game but it's on Friday, might not be able to.

Likely friday as the winner of the Panthers/Bulldogs match would have a short turn around playing on friday so they would be in the saturday game against the Raiders/Sharks.

Thought the same thing - he didn't really fully connect, but there was clear intent there. He wasn't just late, he came in with a lot of force and what looked to me like intent to cause damage. No chance Glenn would have seen him coming either. Pretty low act, but what else would we expect from that scumbag.

Parker headbutt. More controversy. I think Parker was telling James to pack his head into the scrum but didn't need this to come out of tonights game on top of "ALL" the 50/50 calls. (Roberts incident needed review straight away and the Oates contest shouldn't have been a penalty to us).

I disagree on the mead penalty and think its the right call, hype over 50/50 calls is running away with everyone. Mead had no intent to contest the ball. How is a 5 foot winger contesting the ball by planting his feet as a 6 foot 6 winger leaps for the ball. Its bullshit and intentional. Also not a mention anywhere of the push in the back on pearson which led to the drop out which led to titans first try. Should have been broncos penalty marching up field, not defending our line. As for the so called head butt - please... parker tried plenty of times to get his head in the scrum gently, had to get more forceful when James wouldn't move.. no way thats a head butt.

So what shockers gifted us field position. The hype of so called 50/50 calls is blinding people.. I don't think we got a call that wasn't a correct call. I can't think of one incident where I thought shit the refs love us thanks for that gift. Block out the shit people... focus on reality and see whats real not the spin of the commentators and newspapers.

i love it. all this will do is galvanise the boys more. and tbh i think we need something to rev us up a bit for what will be a very hard task against either storm or cows. its like choose your poison. this certainly wont be harming our chances imo

so i hope the press keeps it up with this biased bs. gus ghould is what causes most of this problem most ppl are like sheep and just take everything commentators say with fiction

Mead on Oates was a rough call, but the referees had to make it.

The offensive side has the responsibility to ensure that when they put in a cross-field kick, that everything is above board. You can't accidentally take out the defensive player playing for the football, end of and unfortunately since Mead's half-hearted attempt caused Oates to topple over and land dangerously it had to be a penalty.

Put it this way, if Oates broke his neck, nobody would be calling the referee's into question. Offensive players should have to think twice and have to avoid making contact with the legs.

The more I think about it, the less sympathy I have for the Titans. I can't think of a single call the referees got wrong.

Exactly this. I wish the media had the understanding of the game that you do BP. All I have heard from the media about the mead penalty is how outrageous it is, but why. You can't be contesting the ball unless you are actually contesting. FFS my 5 year old son can jump higher than the attempt Mead made. He was simply trying to put Oates off in the air and covering it up by looking at the ball.

When did whether something is dangerous start being decided by whether there is an injury or not?

My other gripe with the media (one of many) is that all we ever hear from them is "let's get the grey out of the game, make black and white rules with no discretion". Then as soon as it is applied with a black and white ruling (kahu's penalty try) they are equally outraged screaming for the refs to apply discretion. Do they realise how ridiculous they sound?

i hardly ever watch channel 9 and normally stick with the fox crew, however after listening to kev walters for 15 mins last night i had to change the channel. he is a an old club fave and qlder but his tongue is so far up some of our boys rear ends its starting to make me sick. ill be muting from now on and running with the triple m calls.

Triple M is pretty bad. The non-stop commercialization drives you nuts; every second sentence is thanking a sponsor. ABC grandstand has the best sports commentary for mine.

The people who are confused by the rules of the game it astonishing. Fans don't seem to know the rules, then get their panties in a twist when they're applied correctly and the fan doesn't understand how they got the decision they got.
