Actually I will concede one of the calls.

Roberts should have been penalised for dangerous contact. It would have been a tough call, but the side-on view shows that there was enough force there to be a penalty.

The referees missed it, the bunker can only adjudicate on everything that happens after the play-the-ball so the Broncos were fortunate.

Again, it would have been a tough call and I would have been filthy that it came to that (Simpkins' effort in the ruck was awful) but you can't lash out like Roberts did.

I expect him to cop a Grade 1 Dangerous Contact Charge, but he'll be right to play. All the points he accrued for the Grade 1 Contrary Conduct Charge have evaporated and an early guilty plea will see him off.

Ash Taylor could have also been in the bin for the offside tackle for Kahu's second try. Can it be a professional foul if you don't succeed in stopping the try? That's the way the referees seem to apply it (if the try is scored everything beforehand is fair game) but I would think according to the letter of the law that wouldn't be the case.

Was that the offside and early tackle one? That should have been a sin bin 100%, it doesn't get anymore blatant than that.

Five pages of commentary and to me no comment of the single most defining moment of the game. WITHOUT QUESTION it is the clean hit that Macca put on Taylor. That was the game changer.

Also special props to Kahu. An absolute unsung hero who when on the field goes about his job in a tough and classy manner week in and week out. Just wish he had another 10 kilos of muscle mass protecting those bones and joints.

Toms surgery is going to keep him out for months, he won't be back until pre season at the earliest from what I gather. I will be surprised if he makes it back this season now. Shame, could have done with his defence in the next game.

Unfortunately you can't have your cake and eat it as well.

It can only be a professional foul if it prevents a player from scoring.

And it can only be an eight point try if the infringement occurs after the try is scored (eg. dangerous contact, striking etc.)

I don't necessarily agree with that and hate how the Titans were allowed to get away with two obvious infringements (Taylor offside, Peteru interference on Hunt) without any form of penalty.

Does anybody know the what day the round between Elimination Final winner (Broncos) and the Qualifying loser (Storm or Cowboys) will be played?

I've got the entire weekend by myself and wanted to fly out the game but it's on Friday, might not be able to.

It will be Friday night. The Panthers v Bulldogs game is on Sunday, so they won't have a 5 day turnaround which means Cowboys v Broncos Friday night & Raiders v Bulldogs Saturday night.

And I hate the other ****ing qld sides.... I can't get into this love fest for all that is Qld.... supporters of these teams hate us with ****ing passion and sink the boot in every opportunity. I guarantee if we are there on GF day, Titans and cowgirls fans won't be cheering us cos we're from qld... they'll be going for whoever we play.... especially if its storm cos for some strange reason people blame the broncos for not signing every qld player who plays for them, even though most of their players are from closer to nq than to Brisbane

Up until the GF last year, I was always a sympathiser of the other QLD teams, but you're right their supporters absolutely hate us. I'm mates with a Cowboys supporter and he went to the double-header and was cheering for Manly against us, I mean, come on...Manly? I now have absolute hate for the QLD teams, so much in fact I was cheering on the Dragons in the U/20s game against the Cowboys. That has never happened!

This game didn't deserve to start off the finals series.

It was a good game, but I just didn't find it as enjoyable as I normally would have. It didn't feel like a finals game to me. Maybe it was the fact that I was sitting by myself and it was raining all night and I had people coming in and out that couldn't make up their fucking mind on what they wanted to eat and drink etc.. But to me this game would have been better off on a Sunday afternoon.

I found it hard to enjoy this game due to how throughout the entire match the commentators just keep going on how the Titans were gutsy and how the refs were rubbish and everything was against the Titans.
