POST GAME Finals Week 1 - Broncos vs Titans

Tom natural side is on the right, he has played most of his footy as a right center so if he can get himself fit I'd just put him in there.

Then it's opa and Pearson on the right. Big ask for the youngsters.

you mean apart from Neil Henry having a big cry during their post match press conference
This is true though Henry virtually urged the journos to complain on his behalf.
Without a doubt, the two worst are Rothfield and Gould. Agendas. Agendas everywhere.

So Kasiano is charged with dangerous contact, yet Roberts is charged with contrary conduct. For the same offence of kicking. (Not so) Coincidentally Roberts loading points come from having a prior contrary conduct charge.

I'm calling bullshit.

were you seriously expecting fairness and consistency from the MRC

hopefully the club can prove to the judiciary that the MRC have once again leveled the wrong charge, hence finding him not guilty of the charge leveled at him

If the club don't fight it they are fucking idiots. They've deliberately selected that charge because they knew it would be the only way they could suspend him. It reeks of, dare I say it, corruption.

So all the whinging and whining about the game last night seems to be coming not from the Titans themselves but from NSW commentators and media 'writers' like the telegraph and channel nine. How many shit decisions have we and the other QLD teams had to put up with from the refs over the last decade..... to many to count ..but.. as soon as a game involving the Broncos get a couple of 50/50 go their way all the so called and mostly NSWRL 'experts' come out of the woodwork and 'its all so unfair for the Titans' well I'm with the majority of posters her... the Titans played well enough to get my respects but in the final analysis for me it a '**** em to bad so sad' result just as the refs have done to us and the cowboys for years and no one south of the border said 'boo'
Our game was below par on a slippery surface but we guts it out and won in the second half.... those pricks down south a terrified of another Qld V Qld or Qld V Storm final.. To bad we have to pop either the cows or the storm next week because of the draw so I wonder what the 'all knowing' commentators will make of that if we get a few 50/50's go our way.... we wont get em of course so will have to do it despite the crap refs.... or maybe the fix is already in. NEVER trust anyone connected with NSWRL including the refs. Am I bias.... you bet.... I have watched these rubbish comments and decisions about QLD teams since 1987 and before that from 1980 first origin.... and I still hate the NSWRL puppet masters and NSW commentator grubs. Have a great day and well done the broncs... hope we win the GF and **** them all off.
Two long ass paragraphs I absolutely agree with!

Tony Archer gave a press conference after the game as well ...

and he seriously had to say 4 times that the reason the bunker couldn't rule on the James Roberts kick was because it was before the play the ball and under the rules of the Bunker (and video referee before that) they are only allowed to rule on the final play before scoring, which starts at the play the ball and since Roberts kicked Simpkins before he played the ball the bunker was not able to rule on it.

then he started his comedy routine by saying:

haha swear this MF was waken up in a middle of a bender to have to speak to fittler at ch9 half time.. what a stitch up.

the call was the right one, contentious as the situation may have been, and the fact we recieved a correct call in our 'favour' was entirely random quite frankly

So by my count the seasons tally stands at:

3 incorrect calls going for us; and

50 incorrect calls going against us.

Pretty much this. We've been on the receiving end of calls that were blatantly wrong. Multiple times in games. And told to just accept it because mistakes happen. Even of the ones that the refs got wrong that benefited us:

* As Port said, with Roberts' "kick", it happened before the PTB and was missed, they couldn't go back.
* With Parker's headbutt, which I admit I didn't see and still haven't, the scrum is literally a punch of bloked thrusting their heads towards each other. Easy to miss.

In fact the only one that I believe could have been overturned was the Oates tackled-while-in-the-air. Even though, yes, the Titans' players were doing a pretty piss-weak attempt at contesting for the ball, but they were still at least under the ball and ready to catch it, as opposed to just running Oates off-line.

Gould moaning about why the video ref go involved in the scrum feed that got overturned - it was clear live that the on-field ref deliberately asked the bunker to check it because he suspected it could have been a Titans knock-on. That there is the exact scenario that the bunker is useful for.

"Correct decision but I don't like it". Thanks Sterlo. You've now given the NRL every reason to put their figurative arms up in the air and do nothing to fix their problems. Do we want the decisions to be correct? Or do want decisions to be incorrect but designed to appeased perceived injustices arbitrarily? Seriousy, it's the rules. The fact that a penalty-try happens so rarely due to that rule just shows that the rule is working, and that by enforcing it, teams won't let it slowly creep back in to their game like not using their feet to play the ball, shoulder charges, and everything else that's had piss-weak short-term "crackdowns".

The Titans threw a lot at us. And the weather was the worst you could hope for with our tactic of moving the ball around and changing the point. Yet we won. And bombed three tries too that could have led to a thrashing. The way the commentators carried on we could have won by 50-0 and they'd still be pissed because it ruined their opportunity to call an underdog success story and witness the Hayne Resurrection.

Sharks player penalised for a near identical tackle in the air to the one on Oatesy. Dare I say it. Consistency
