Finals Week 1

I don't know anyone who can voluntarily bend their finger back like that - no try, clear as day.
I based that on the front angle only.
But front on, it's bending backwards.
Side on, if it isn't touching the ball, why can you not see any of his finger? Where did it go?

At that point it did look like it possibly touched his finger. But then we look at that moment from the aerial view which I don't believe was shown on TV and it shows a clear gap between his hand and the ball.

Try or no try, no matter what Sutton sent it up as, I very much doubt the end result would have been different.

Those angles do tell a different story.
From what was shown on the box though, I understand the frustration from players and fans alike.
If that went against us, I'd imagine most of us would be dirty.

Fans making excuses for their team losing is out of control. It's the worst I can ever remember it. Every game fans irrationally blame the refs.

The process was poorly done last night.

The Peachey try and the Walker no try, it was clear they had other angles they were looking at to make the call, but those weren't show on TV. It just created confusion and anger.

In the future, the process needs to be spot on. If they are looking at a certain angle, they need to show that angle.

I don't disagree with you on that.
On the flip side though, I would suggest that the performance of referees has never had so much impact on results. With teams all playing the same basic style, there really isn't much between the best and worst team.
We are seeing more and more often though, the team that gets the rub-of-the-green wins the game.

That's just rugby league though. There are calls where 50% of people will agree with the call and 50% of people wont agree. You just have to accept it. I can't stand people going to war over 50/50 calls like their team was massively ripped off.

I'll never stop fighting the good fight.

Torso tries will be the death of this sport.

The thing I don't like about NRL fans is they only watch the game one day. In the first half Wright punched a Panthers player in back play which is an automatic sin bin if the referee sees it. So the Eagles got some breaks of their own.

Just gets lame after a while when fans lose the plot over every single 50/50 call and shout conspiracy etc. It's pathetic. I can't think of another sport where fans got to war over every single 50/50 decision.

If that Peachey 'try' ended our season this place would be melting down deluxe. It was 100% a no try IMO, and the horrendous refereeing deserves scrutiny.

RL is a different beast though and that includes the fans. You only have to browse through Facebook to realise that RL fans are the dumbest on the planet and by a fair margin as well. Which is why I like BHQ because they don't tolerate idiots. Dumb fans aka fanboys will always blame the officials because they refuse to blame their heroes and very few things register with them other than black or white.

It happens in every sport. Check out a soccer or AFL forum sometime.

In some cases, people have valid points. People underestimate just how big of an impact ref decisions can have on a game. Momentum is crucial in today's game.

But in most cases it's rubbish, such as the 7 tackle try to Cronulla.

How long has this Queensland Footy Show been on Channel 9?

It isn't too bad. Badge is doing a great job of leading the discussion and the panelists aren't obsessed with the usual suspects.

3-4 weeks now, it is a good show.

Who said anything about going to war - there's a massive difference between discussing opinions and what you've suggested.
What people fail to recognise is that RL has put itself in the position where there are so many rules and even more interpretations of said rules that the adjudication of such is simply setup to fail.
AFL, soccer and even cricket have a core set of rules which allow less margin for error when it comes to officiating.
However, RL and even worse, union, have so many rules and / or interpretations you need either a PHD in Law or the flip of a coin to be confident in knowing which way it'll be handled game-to-game.

PS. Wright should have absolutely been binned, I couldn't believe nothing was said about it by anyone.
