Finals Week 3 Discussion

No, but I like to reaffirm my belief with evidence sometimes.

The AFL was more entertaining, albeit with the turd burglar Magpies winning.

Still plenty of QLDr's involved in the semis........ and you're watching fumble ball and yawnion instead?

Wow !!!!

Origin finished a billion years ago. Whether or not a player is a Queenslander couldn't matter less. Unless you work in Broncos recruitment.

This. Where the players come from is irrelevant. The clubs left are crap. And after last week's refereeing screwing the cows game I have no interest in the remainder of the premiership.

I am with Coxy, I have watched every match from both the NRL and AFL finals and the AFL has been the better spectacle overall especially when you include the influence of officials on the results. I will watch both but I am far more interested in the AFL due to both the Broncos being out but also so absolutely embarressing decisions by officials.

I find the AFL finals without my team in them much more enjoyable than watching a Storm vs Rabbitohs game.

I agree. I am a Bombers fan in AFL (as the Brisbane team when I started was the Bears and they both sucked and they played at the Gold Coast) and regardless of them being there I still find it extremely exciting. This years AFL is very close in terms of the quality from 1st to about 6th.

2nd to 6th is close, Hawks are as good a things as you'll see ;-)

I have no doubt both trophies will be going to Victoria this year. No doubt.

Yep, I might not have any emotional attachment to any of the remaining teams but I'd rather watch these 4 teams than a game of AFL. Sport is just way too messy for my liking, difficult to take it seriously at times.

Backing Storm & Bulldogs this weekend.

Storm/Sea Eagles will be a very close, tense match but I expect Storm in Melbourne to just to be too strong and will expose how patchy the Sea Eagles can be. Biggest concern here for me is Widdop coming up against T-Rex. If Melbourne have a weakness in defence, it's good fringe running, which is where the Broncos caught them out at Suncorp and if Manly get on a roll early it could get ugly, 2008 ugly. I have more faith in Melbourne than that though and predict they'll win by a lean 8 points.

Bulldogs/Souths is really an interesting contest. Just think Bulldogs on form are too much of a professional unit and are better across the park than Souths who are building but their best footy is certainly infront of them. I just think Souths like Manly can be really patchy and that victory last week really wasn't that great. Obviously it was great for them to finally win a finals match, but the Raiders were absolutely rubbish and they nearly blew that lead with some garbage footy of their own. I just don't think they'll fair all that well with the Bulldogs being in their face on defence and I expect players like Luke, Taylor, Sutton, Reynolds etc. will struggle. Would love to be wrong, but I expect the Dogs to win by 10.

I am really looking forward to the Manly Melb game. Manly are a tough side but if Melb get to a lead and Mnaly are as busted as some reports are saying the score could just blow out.
The tactics will be interesting, Melb play that short compact defensive line and Manly are not scared to go wide from anywhere so there are plenty of metres to be made down the sidelines. T Rex has only played in patches, he could destroy Melb from close range. The home advantage could be the difference with no Manly scum screaming at the ref.

Hey I'm a Bombers fan too. Between them and the Broncos I enjoyed one victory from a possible 16-17 games combined. Tough going in the back end of the year.
