POST GAME Finals Week 3 - Storm vs Broncos

Could not agree more. We were given an absolute gift - how many times have the Storm played like that against us?

To not even register a point and implode after 60 minutes.. I don't even know what to say.
And I don't want to be all doom and gloom and negative Nancy but just two weeks ago we were gifted the same gift which would have seen us face the a weakened yet full of believe cowboys team at home for a place in the grand final. Twice in three weeks we had a game there for the winning. I understand we made a preliminary final and that's great but wow it's hard to be positive given the oppourtunities we've been given this finals series.

It isn’t that we don’t win every game that upsets so many people, it’s the manner in which we lose. Idiotic school boy errors consistently and nothing changes. Our mental fragility whenever things get a bit tough. All the rubbish talk about turning things around and whatnot off the field and then they go out and do the exact same goddamn thing next week. No structure in attack, constant refusal to use our most potent attacking weapons. Repeated poor efforts and there is no accountability for it. Coaching staff that come out and say they are happy with the effort when we get smashed by 30 or 40 or 50 points...

We might have finished 3rd, but we are going backwards as a team, not forwards.
It's just too easy to be critical because we didn't make / win the GF.

You know what, there will be 13 other teams that don't either and 12 that we made it further than.

The fact we were decimated by injury / suspension / origin and, aside from a couple of blowouts, were in every game we didn't win whilst not necessarily playing our best footy is remarkable. Provides a great platform to build on.

It can't be a coincidence that teams played poorly and let us back into the game every time we were behind - it just can't. Maybe a couple, but not all. Perhaps enough credit isn't given to us working our way back into such games through pressure, determination or skill.

Consider Melbourne have 1 premiership to show for 10 years of dominance and their 3 best players are almost closer to 40 than 30.

We've lost the bulk of our over 30's and are a young team, even compared to the '15 team - there has to be time to rebuild.

If it was so easy to win premierships, Storm would have 10 in a row by now.

Because it wouldn't work. If someone wants to learn they will. Can't force it on them

Yeah, he seems to have a large ego if he refuses help from a great. Morgan gets help fr Thurston, but he clearly wants to improve too.

Have I missed something? Does Milford not want to learn from Lockyer?

There was an article from last year or something about that I think. Also people keep saying Morgan is learning from Thursto and Milf is learning from Hunt.

Anthony Milford turns his back on getting help from Broncos legend Darren Lockyer
Peter Badel, The Courier-MailMarch 15, 2015 9:00pm
ANTHONY Milford will resist issuing an SOS for Broncos legend Darren Lockyer as he braces for a derby showdown with Cowboys champion Johnathan Thurston.
Milford’s stance came as The Courier-Mail learned of Broncos coach Wayne Bennett’s plan to ignite his rookie pivot in Friday night’s Queensland blockbuster at Suncorp Stadium.
Milford idolised Lockyer as a teenager and the Queensland legend’s offer to mentor him this season was the trump card that sealed his defection from Canberra to Brisbane.
But as he prepares for the biggest test of his embryonic career this week, Milford revealed he was determined not to rely on Lockyer to succeed in the decorated Broncos No. 6 jumper.
Lockyer has had just one face-to-face session with Milford in four months and while Milford has enormous respect for Lockyer’s football brain, he wants to fire at five-eighth on his terms — starting against Thurston in his maiden Queensland derby.
“I feel I can get by without him (Lockyer),” Milford said.

Anthony Milford is determined not to rely on Darren Lockyer to succeed at the Broncos.
“I would never say no to advice from people, especially someone as great as Locky, and if it’s negative or positive I will accept it, but I want to try and do it my way.
“Locky is always around but we have done just one kicking session so far.
“If I needed help, I would ask for it but, to be honest, I have senior boys around me and (halves partner) Benny Hunt helps me out.”
Milford struggled against Souths in the season-opener and he is still clearly searching for his mojo in attack after making four errors in Brisbane’s 10-2 defeat of Cronulla last Friday night.
Despite calls from premiership-winning former coach Phil Gould to shift Milford to fullback, Bennett will back the Maroons under-20s star to flourish at five-eighth.
The Courier-Mail can reveal Bennett’s blueprint to spark Milford. The coach wants his young-gun recruit to play with more depth in attack, which would afford Milford extra time with his option-taking and game management.

Darren Lockyer and Wayne Bennett chat at Broncos training.
The 20-year-old will also be ordered to play more direct at the Cowboys after being guilty of drifting across field against the Sharks, making him easy pickings for the Cronulla defence.
Bennett also wants Milford to back himself by roaming on either side of Brisbane’s rucks, instead of fixing himself to one attacking corridor.
“I would like to see Anthony run,” Bennett said.
“He played better (against Cronulla) than he did the previous week. He was more involved. I saw some good signs and that’s what I’m looking for … continued improvement.
“I’m not looking for miracles overnight from Anthony or anyone else.”
Milford is not daunted by the Thurston challenge and says he won’t be surrendering his five-eighth responsibilities.
“I want to stay there. I want to make the position mine long-term, but in saying that I know I have work to do,” he said.
“This is a huge test for me. Thurston is the best player in the world, so I have to do a lot of homework on him and try and shut him out of the game.”

I know what went wrong. Who was in charge of passing on my tactics to Bennett? Whoever that was, the loss is squarely on you. Didn't see either of them happen last night.

Over 2 yrs ago......I wonder if that's still how Milford feels.

Milford probably didn't need locky in 2015 as Walters was around and the broncos were killing it. But boy does he need locky now. Swallow that pride like a Big Mac milf, and call locky. Heck even get your dad to do it if you can't.

We need Walters back that is another problem why we are not doing so good.

Seeing replays of moga bombing that try last night is just laughable now. It was so bad you can just tell his peanut brain was crumbling trying to work out what to do. It was like reading the matrix to him. What an idiot.

Yeah and i said from the start of the season the dickhead cant pass haha and some of yous said his just learning and he still hasn't after a season. will be amusing watching him on my couch and at the field when we vs him fucking up the knights wingers

Apparently Bennett wants jd to take over when he finishes , but seems the powers above want walters. Was on Twitter somewhere!!

What does bennett have against Walters? JD had all year to show he could bring something better than 2015. He didn't
