Finals Week 3

What a salty old bitch. I mean there's no doubt the split was messy and acrimonious, but for ****'s sake build a bridge, Wayne. He clearly came out of it on top, regardless of who did what or pushed who or spread nasty gossip or whatever happened. He walked away from a team he'd built that was on the decline and no real chance of getting to the big dance in the near future, and inherited a team that already had great pieces in place and was full of potential.

Anyway, hopefully the Storm gut them next week.
Jesus, you love rewriting history. When Seeplod came here and the Broncos disgracefully failed to honour a contract, made in good faith the Broncos were a team on a rocket to the top.

You just cannot stomach being wrong about WB, so much so you are happy to lie. Revolting.

A rocket to the top? Please. While competitive, we got slightly worse each season in Wayne's second stint

Not sure what this talk is about not doing a rebuild. Wayne had Fifita, Haas, Coates, Staggs, TPJ, Lodge, Sua, etc on the way through. And he signed Bird to play lock before other teams had caught onto that trend (which didn’t work out due to injury). The club was moving in the right direction roster wise.

There were some guys like Macca, Boyd, Moose, that were overstaying their welcomes but in retrospect forcing out all those experienced guys was a disaster too.

It was the overwhelming consensus at the time that the Broncos were a team with enormous potential and Seeplod was inheriting a dream team. Touted at the time as the man to take us the final step from finalists to champions.

Perhaps you better go back and read a few threads. The Broncos were considered a huge threat and definitely weren't also rans or little future chance, in fact the exact opposite was the prevailing view.

Who can remember the halcyon days when we were....erm rocketing....to...the top?

Including being flogged in the first week of the finals by a side that didn't even deserve to be there.

Basically went on a rant about us undermining him and praising Souths for hiring him.

Badel got the response he want with the questions asked.
Badel got the response we wanted with the questions asked. We aren't interested in Sydney clubs.

Badel is paid to write about the Broncos, which includes the impact of a second Brisbane team. Maybe he'll cover both teams in the future. But he almost NEVER covers any other club. Not even the Titans or Cowboys. And it's a winning formula. We lap it up here at BHQ. Especially you @Foordy you hang on Badel's every word, because he writes about the Broncos.

Bennett's only claim to fame is coaching the Broncos, and mentoring Alfie Langer and Kevvie Walters. No one gives a shit about his tenure at St George, Newcastle or Souths or the players he coached there. No one cares that he's won other premierships.

On this board, we're only interested in Souths insofar as the team includes Adam Reynolds, our future saviour and is coached by Wayne. The Courier Mail readers and BHQ are not interested in Cook, Walker, Graham etc. South Sydney is a ghetto. Why would Badel waste his time asking about any of that?

Multiple media pundits rated the broncos premiers at the start of the 2019 season….

We beat the premiers twice that year. Using one game to try an illustrate a point is pretty narrow minded.

who gives a **** if we get thrashed in the finals by an injury riddled squad that were lucky to even make the finals themselves.

We still beat them?

Your logic as to why 2018 wasn't a year where we were going dowhill instead of "rocketing to the top" is ridiculous.

We couldn't deliver when it mattered. We got flogged when it mattered.

I’ve had this argument before but our problem in 2018 was complacency, not ability. We beat Easts, south’s and Cronulla each twice that year and they were 3 out of the top 4.

we finished 1 win from first place. People point to that final to prove a point that we were fucking terrible in 2018 and that is what is ridiculous @Super Freak

One win and a million F/A. We were closer to being 8th.

And those are all useless stats. None of that matters.

What matters is how you perform at the business end of the season. That's how you gauge whether a team is "rocketing to the top" or going downhill.

We didn't perform well.
