I agree with everything you have just said.
However, the key thing here is Izzy is being hung out to dry, for his faith, why is Izzy copping all the punishment for the system he believes in?
Should it not be the church and the church leaders being punished?
Does Izzy not deserve the right to freedom of speech or the right to believe in a faith he chooses?
In no way is Izzy the instigator of these beliefs, he is a follower of a religion, not its creator, he did not dictate their religious laws, he just follows them.

They can believe what they like. But to go preaching it to a worldwide audience is fucked up. Consider how many 7-16 year olds would have considered Izzy an absolute idol. Its terrible behavior and incredibly irresponsible on Israels behalf.
Its hateful bullshit, and it has no place in our society.
That being said, organized religion preaches this to the world every single sunday, to a huge contingent of people.
You have people like Justin Bieber and Katy Perry, who are far more famous than Izzy following religions that preach the same ideals to a much larger group.

To try to answer your other question as to why Folau is being singled out. It's a hard one. I think people should be entitled to believe what they like. As long as it doesn't impinge on other people's rights and beliefs. I'll put it like this. If there was two buildings beside each other, and in one, people celebrated the idea that we have a spiritual connection to the earth. And in the other they believed we had a spiritual connection to the sky. There is no problem there. No one hurting anyone, people believing whatever they want.

Now if those people started to hassle each other, and force their beliefs on the others, that's where I think a line is crossed. And that is where Folau went wrong. Believe whatever you want, but don't try to force it down everyone else's throat. Or try paint everyone with the same brush. What gives anyone that right?
