BRISBANE is likely to part ways with in-form trio Michael Ennis, David Stagg and Joel Moon in order to offset Israel Folau's signature.

It is understood all three players have been encouraged to secure their futures elsewhere with Brisbane battling to balance its books for next year after signing the Storm sensation.

Both Ennis and Stagg have contract options to remain at the Broncos next season but are not expected to remain post-2008, while Moon is likely to command more money elsewhere.

In turn, the departure of Ennis, Stagg and Moon would also allow Brisbane to offer gun prop Ben Hannant, who is set to earn his first Origin cap for Queensland on Tuesday, a long-term contract.

Awful. Folau better absolutely dominate every game he plays for us, to actually be worth what he is getting paid.

Ohhh that sucks! i love watching all of them play, big loss if they go.
Yea folau better dominate everygame for us! Atleast they are all replaceable. I would realy like to see Moon stay and play a bit more footy at the Broncos i can see alot of talent in him. I think Storm will make a bid for him.

+1

If we lose all this talent just to get the big name, and the big name turns out to be the typical, overhyped, overpaid "superstar" I'm going to be pissed.

Stagg will be massive loss if its true, great player!!! deserves better, i would rather keep staggy than hannant.....

I can live with losing Stagg and Moon. Ennis will sting slightly given his electric form in the past month or so but PJ Marsh still has years left and I'm confident we can find a good replacement at hooker when he finishes up.

Honestly Folau is a one in a million type of player. He's not even 20 and the guy's an international and arguably the most powerful centre in the game. He's going to be brilliant partnering Hodges and I can't wait to see him wearing our jersey.

And he better score 2 trys per game.

Not HAPPY JAN.

BRISBANE is likely to part ways

Until it says "Brisbane has released", I'll take this with a grain of salt.

Be disappointed to see Staggy go most out of the 3. Will wait for the official word but before believing it, and in the meantime will support the 2008 team [icon_razz1

I really wouldnt mind. As long as we retain Hannant.

Agree Coxy, but I'd even go further to say that until I actually hear it from Bruno or the player/s involved directly.

I agree coxy. but if you think about it. losing those three plus Tonie Carroll for next year would give us about 600k available under the cap. keeping in mind that we have bought Folau, we should still be able to retain Boyd, Michaels and Hannant. BTW, i don't believe Rebecca Wilsons story (about us already being 300k over the cap for next year) for 1 second

Flutterby: Absolutely. And in the end, none of them are irreplaceable. It'd be nice to keep them, but meh.

Although personally I'd rather retain Ennis, Hannant and one of Boyd and Michaels. And hindsight is a wonderful thing, but I think Bruno might be regretting the bidding war to keep Moon in 2006.

bfoord: I don't believe anything Rebecca Wilson says. Even when she says "Hi, I'm Rebecca Wilson" I feel compelled to yank on her face to see if it's a mask (though with her floppy loose skin it'd probably just make her look like Beethoven...the dog I mean not the composer).

Anyway I'm side tracked. In essence I think what she's said is right. If the Broncos were to retain everybody, and sign Folau, on the market rates they'd be over the cap. To list a figure though is pure speculation because nobody knows everyone's exact salaries.

Falou is done, moot point.

Hannant is a MUST. For me, he is the priority (of the above mentioned players).

Ennis, well, the question I want answered is, what is Ennis and manager asking for? I won't say anymore.

Stagg, I wouldn't have thought Stagg would be on a heap of coin anyways, so I find it strange that they can't secure him.

Hannant and Ennis are musts.

Id be happy to lose Moon and Michaels in order to keep Staggy. If Ennis is to go then so be it, but I think we should at least try to keep Staggy [eusa_doh .

He is a guy every team needs and he has done a wonderful job this year in filling just about every position in our line-up, without his utility value and defence we would be struggling big time. However it would give a guy like Ben Hunt, Gerard Beale or Alex Glenn a shot at becoming our utility!

We should be looking at offloading Moon, another center/winger and MAYBE a forward. And if we were to lose a forward, we should be so lucky if it's Stagg IMO. As useful as he is, we have alot more talented players to hold on to before him.

We should be trying to retain Ennis and Hannant as best we can.

If Stagg goes I can see him going to England eusa_think
