Form Trio Dropped For Folau

I think what Mal is trying to get at is that Stagg is unique to our club. Realistically we don't have another player that can fill all the spots he does, ala Shaun Berrigan recently and probably before that you'd go back to Ash Harrison or even further back to John plath.....utility type players.

Stu is right in saying Stagg doesn't excel in any single position, but he certainly fills the roles when needed. If we had someone else coming along who filled that role than yes let Stagg go but unless we do I believe we need him. There may be players like Stagg but not at the Broncos and in this day of 10 interchange they are a valuable player to have. Maybe if he stays and Stagg goes Moon might prove to be that player, but not on what I've seen to date.

Beale.

Yet to prove it. Stagg holds the tackles record and has played almost 70 solid games. He is by far the most consistent in the broncos icon_thumbs_u

Stop getting a stagg over Stagg.

i was afraid of this, i only wanted folau if we didnt sign him for too much, obviously we did.

TBH I would rather keep Stagg most out of those three considering we don't really have a back up workhorse unless you count Kenny.

Not real fussed if Ennis leaves, sure he is going great guns but we have PJ Marsh, Mick Roberts & Ben Hunt as standbys.

Moon seems alright but with our backline, he won't really ever get a chance, unless he moves to lock. Anyway TC's spot appears if it may go to Watkins next year.

That's like Newcastle supporters saying "It's OK if Andrew Johns leaves to another club, since we have Luke Walsh, Chris Bailey and Scott Dureau as standbys".

Fair enough I suppose, but PJ Marsh is a rep quality hooker. Don't get me wrong I would prefer to keep Ennis, but there are other options if he leaves.

Makes you wonder what they'll do with all the cash when Locky goes...

Spend it on Finch. He could be a great 5/8 [icon_evillaugh

Corey Parker has turned into quite the workhorse over the last few seasons. He plays 80 mins makes tons of tackles but is also good in attack. As much as I like Stagg I think he can get more money elsewhere and I would be happy for him if he got some great coin.

On Enniss it looks like we will lose him and if we do it will be a crying shame because he is finally playing to his potential.

Well, Ennis does not compare to Andrew Johns

Indeed. Some people might have noticed that I am highly biased towards Ennis, Michaels and Perry and highly biased against Folau. The reason I am biased towards Ennis though, is because I can see him becoming an excellent hooker in the future, and quite possibly the NSW hooker too. I would have thought someone as highly as talented as him would be more useful than Folau, who will at the most, touch the ball like 10 times a match.

Moon is a big loss if true, Ennis and Stagg can be replaced.

Stagg has become less useful as Thaiday and Parker can play longer minutes. Even Hannant can if we can keep him.

after watching the first half of the test, one thing has become apparent to me. that is that Folau is really good in the air. something we have not had at the Broncos in recent years. both defensively and in attack. eusa_think

Not really less useful, centre, wing, 5/8th, hooker, second row and lock, thats a lot of versatility to be able to call upon in a match to give players a rest, cover injuries and utilise his defensive capabilities not to mention his one of our most reliable performers in the side, his importance in the side remains the same. They may be able to play more minutes but the less work they have to do the higher the quality of their performance will be not to mention its always good to have additional depth there in positions for emergencies.

And bfoord thats an area that we definately need in the backline, the ability to utilise the high bomb and defensively better under it.

Yeah, Folau is a fantastic winger and great under the high ball.

The only problem is that's still not worth 1.6 million over four years, and the Broncos will probably play him in the centres, where he is a much worse defender than he is on the wing.

Your off your scone champ Ennis is a big loss Stagg and Moon can be replaced alot easier than a class hooker.

And your memory is is about as good as a gold fishes if you can't remember that the Broncos looked their best with Marsh at hooker this year.

We played two games with marsh at hooker and he hardly dominated the way Ennis has. Marsh is a good hooker but isn't anywhere near the calibre Ennis could be. I stil can't understand hwo you think Moon is a bigger loss than STagg or Ennis.. PLEASE EXPLAIN??
