Form Trio Dropped For Folau

It's a pity we can't just release Joel Clinton. Considering the great number of forwards we already have and the money he'd be on, he's probably the player in our squad who offers us the least value for money.

Look at the title... then the use of the word "likely".

FMD the media in this country is terrible.

True. All Frank needs is for Hunt, Boyd, Robinson, Kemp, Hewitt, Michaels, Lockyer, Wallace, Hannant, Ennis, Marsh, Thaiday, Clinton, Sims, Parker, Kenny, Eastwood, Taylor and Moon to follow and Frank would be happy!

Not quite Mick. We'd also have to get Slater, Turner, Quinn, Inglis, nuffy centre on other side of Folau, Cronk, White, Smith, Kaufusi, Crocker, Hoffman and Johnson. Oh and Bellamy.

And we'd have to start playing in gay purple at Olympic Park.

Nah, we'd have to get Webb and Nutley in too. Probably JT to cover any injury to Prince, and Bowen as a back-up to Slater.

Mash it up, throw in Nuts and Hodges...

Fark it, let's form it up - the North Melbourne Storm Cowcos.

Call me a traitor, but I tend to agree with Frank about Stagg. Don't get me wrong, I really admire the bloke, think he brings awesome qualities to our team - versatility, dependability, sportsmanship etc.

But I don't think it's skills we won't get from someone else. Maybe not immediately, but players like him do come along.

So if we give him away and keep Hannant, Boyd and maybe Ennis, it's worth it.

Spot on about Stagg, but ONLY if it comes down to someone like Hannant or Ennis leaving, or a star like Izzy coming along!

I like the bloke a lot too, but guys like Mick and Ben will be the cornerstone of our team for many years, and would have no qualms about Stagg and others leaving to keep them there.

mick! didn't actually mean to be really rude to Frank on the issue, as mick! agrees with Frank here.

BigStim179 doesn't agree with Frank the Wank. BigStim179 thinks that Staggs worth to the Broncos is underestimated and he's a much better player than Frank the Spank thinks

I certainly don't agree with Frank's assessment of Stagg as a player. I think he's great! But as Mick and I have said, if keeping Stagg means losing Hannant or not getting Folau, he's not worth that.

there are a thousand other players coming through that would be able to do exactly what stagg does just as well. hes a generic player - offers nothing in attack, doesnt sting in defence, and is merely filling up the numbers.

Clearly Tanks do not have eyes. Stagg is unique, he is a workhorse that provides 80 minutes, takes the load off other players by consistently completing top tackle counts in effect giving us an extra bench player and he is able to slot in the back row, lock, 5/8th and centres. You are crazy to think you can find other players to fill that void.

Stagg has impressed me the last few weeks, I believe he has a few try assists. We dont need him to "Sting" in defense, we have Eastwood, Carroll, Simms, Hannant to do that..

Open your eyes ffs, just because he isn't flashy doesn't mean he isn't important.

Atm it just says likely, so nothing is official, which gives a little hope.

But still, Id be most disappointed if we lost Ennis. Stagg and Moon I can cope with.

Stagg....unique? [icon_lol1.

sure he can 'slot in' in the backrow and at 5/8th and centre, but hes not good at any of the positions! any player can slot in to any position on the field, but they wont necessarily be good at them. Stagg is mediocre at many positions, great at none.

Frank isnt saying he needs to be flashy - he just needs to be better than generic, which he isnt. the bad thing is Frank cant see many other teams being interested in making him an offer, as not many teams go for generic players.

1. If there are "thousands" of players just like Stagg, name 25 of them currently in the NRL with his experience and ability.

2. "Not many teams go for generic players". Then how in ****'s name have we gotten rid of Seymour, Learoyd-Lahrs, Costigan and Mapp in recent years, and how the hell did guys like Stu Kelly play for more than one club? [icon_lol1.

It could be that some clubs, hell even everyone in the country aside from Stu realises that solid, "generic" players who get a lot of work done are ESSENTIAL for all clubs to have. They don't chew up the salary cap and they always put in a lot of effort.

I think what Mal is trying to get at is that Stagg is unique to our club. Realistically we don't have another player that can fill all the spots he does, ala Shaun Berrigan recently and probably before that you'd go back to Ash Harrison or even further back to John plath.....utility type players.

Stu is right in saying Stagg doesn't excel in any single position, but he certainly fills the roles when needed. If we had someone else coming along who filled that role than yes let Stagg go but unless we do I believe we need him. There may be players like Stagg but not at the Broncos and in this day of 10 interchange they are a valuable player to have. Maybe if he stays and Stagg goes Moon might prove to be that player, but not on what I've seen to date.

Dont forget Thaiday! One of the hardest defenders in our club.

Hi Frank! In 'Your' Broncos team, do you have any quality in your back up players? I mean we have to field 17 players each week but surely you cant expect to have the same players on the field for the whole season. You have Origin, injuries & suspensions to consider.

I also believe there are better players than the ones you have mentioned but given the Broncos history or producing quality players, i have complete faith in the club continueing this 'tradition'.
Lets get behind our players and show some support.
