MOTORSPORTS Formula 1

Ferrari level of butchering a sure win by McLaren. Incredible.

Oscar was the quickest comfortably. His post-race radio just made me angry. Oscar knew they butchered it for him.

Antonelli pissed me off too. 2 free points for Lando.

Kudos to Sainz though. Great drive and getting the Williams a podium.

Yeah all good points.

At the end of the day, as much as it sucks for our boy, the stuff up from McLaren has made the last round REALLY interesting viewing.

The most annoying thing of all of for us as Oscar fans, is that the team has been willing to take a chance on strategy, many times this season that have benefited Lando with race wins from 2nd with the alternate strategy.

Today, where the alternate strategy would have been pitting on SC, as all other teams ended up doing, they opted against it, it would seem, to prevent possibly needing a double stack and disadvantaging Lando and then doubled down by not splitting the strategy and letting one do it - Like they have previously which benefited Lando.

think the post-race comms were spot on by the pundits, in an effort to 'not benefit' either driver, they essentially punished both.

Oscar has had his issues drive wise last few races, he hasn't been his best, there is no denying that. But I think his 'niceness' for lack of a better term, has been what will cost his just as much. He needed to not stand for the shit McLaren were pulling earlier in this season, instead it happened again and again.

Lets hope the nerves get to Lando and he butchers quali next week. He has it in him.

Yep, that's what we all hope but you are also right, next season Oscar needs to learn from his mistakes and call his team out when they pull stunts on him. This is why Max is so good, the team is all in on him but he still calls them out when they screw it up. Oscar needs to send the message to his team that he is not happy being number 2. I get him doing it this year but next year it just can't happen.

It really isnt though. Unless norris puts himself into a wall, he has won because i think he only has to get 4th or 5th if max wins.

But he might well do that, he's shown cracks under pressure before. If he goes in thinking all he has to do is finish 4th or 5th, who knows what might happen.

We know Max and Oscar can finish ahead of him. All he needs is Mercedes to go well, Ferrari to pull one from nowhere or someone to do a Sainz and before you know it, he's outside the top five.

Also, if he qualifies on the 2nd, 3rd or 4th row of the grid, the potential of getting hit increases dramatically.

But yeah, it is just a bit of hope at the moment but at some point his incredible luck this season has to end right?

And who can forget Vettel's WC over Webber and whoever it was or just a couple of years back Verstappen looking dead and buried until Laffranchi or whoever it was did his best work and crashed one more time to completely change the WC and result in Wolffe saying 'Its nort right Micky, zis is wrong.'

Hamilton and Mercedes haven't been the same since.

Brown and the McLaren team are totally mind-****ed now.
Mind baffling that they didn't pit Oscar on the SC - just stupid that they didn't pit Norris in behind Max - other than a worry that they would be seen to be favouring him over Oscar.

The breakdown apparently.

So Tsunoda gone. Poor guy, he pretty much gets shafted by inheriting the poisoned chalice that is the second Red Bull. Lawson really lucked out.

I’m interested to see how Hadjar goes though, I think his style should suit the car.

A mate of mine believes that McLaren knew exactly what they were doing in Qatar. He thinks they'd rather see Max win it than Oscar win it over Lando.

If that’s true, might be worth Oscar looking to change teams. Problem is, McLaren has the best car. That said, who knows what next year brings.

See I just can't agree with this.

I get that the main prize for a team is the constructors, which they won comfortably, but I can't believe they wouldn't want one of their drivers to win the WDC. Regardless of which it is.

They'd prefer it was Lando, 100000%, but i cant agree they would rather it be Max over Oscar. If a McLaren driver doesn't win the WDC when theyve had the best car across a season by an absolute mile, it reflects even more terribly on McLarens papaya rules shit, their strategies and them as a team.

Theres so much to think about this weekend. Imagine Max is leading, Lando 4th and Oscar 3rd. If they try pulling team orders on Oscar all hell would break loose. But I still think Oscar would do it.

I also think GR would move out of the way for Lando, just to spite Max, so thats another thing Max/Oscar have to contend with.

I called him a cooker btw.

I think people are just trying to come up with a way to explain the complete and utter **** up that it was. I still don't get it tbh. Even if they'd gone with one of the drivers pitting and one staying out it would make more sense, but both? Far out.

So its last round of the year, you have three contenders left...McLaren put out a reserve driver for practice session 1 instead of Piastri. Nice work lads, nice work...idiots.

Actually…..
Kimi.
Playing games all along.
Letting Lando take 2 extra points (bitch move) then in the last race? Takes him out through a corner. Gone.
Oscar and Max are left. May the best man win..🏆
