Gillett gone for 3 months with fractured neck

I'm sure there is no way in the world the Broncos medical staff would let him back on the field if he wasn't 100%.

I'm not really that concerned about him recovering physically, moreso how he gets over it mentally.

He might be a bit gun shy upon his return.

Even physical concern aside.....legal concern? You bring him back when he's anything less than 100% for a neck/spine complaint you're opening yourself up to all sorts of shit down the road.

Which is exactly why you'd get a medical clearance from a specialist. If the broncos follow the right protocol and get the clearance but it wasn't right the broncos would have a lot less to worry about then what the specialised/doctor would in regards to the law...

I think people hear fractured neck and overreact because it sounds so serious

Rather than the above comment, I'd rather go with "If we really cared about player welfare, we would get Gillett the best medical care we can and then follow the advice of the medical professionals"

And im pretty sure thats what they are going to do. No way in this day and age do they let him go out there without getting ticks of approval from the best medical professionals available. Opens the club up to a civil law suit way to easily.

I've no doubt that's what they will do and if the medicos say he's right to play, then he will play

We are not leaving him out for the rest of the season under the banner of player welfare if the professional advice is he can play

Sit him for the season please, we aren't competing for a title with or without him, may as well get him 100% healthy & rested for next season and use this time to continue evaluating Su'A & Fifita.

I'd leave him out until just before the regular season ends, see where we're at then.

He would be a huge asset if we manage to stzy in the top 8 come seasons end.

I don't believe we're contenders either, but I'm also not giving up and would find it unacceptable from the club and players if they did (not that Bennett would allow this anyway). So if Gillo is fit and healthy, he is a weapon to consider going into the finals.

Su'A is good, but Gillett is better.

When he heals, bring him back in.
