Golf - Who Plays?

Nice. Surprised GA allowed you a handicap of 8 after previously being +2. Did you get a medical exemption? When I came back from a 10yr+ hiatus I had to take my previous handicap, and they'd only manually adjust if I provided medical certs etc.
It's because it was a long period of time, I stop playing so much and never practiced anymore. I was meant to be a trainee professional golfer, but blew my opportunity.

Yeah I know, I was from memory 2012-2023 without a handicap, yet they still made me go back to my original, even with new handicap cards showing I couldn't play to it. Maybe I just spoke to a prick when I called them.

Went and played Parkwood International, where all the Titans boys train and play. It's a easy yet hard course. Lots of easy holes, but so much water to ruin the hope.

Ended up losing 5 balls in the piss, but wasn't horrid for first game in a few weeks.

Mate 79 with 5 lost balls is pretty good going.

Geez he had to work for that. That shot on the 15th after the screw up on the 13th was one of the best i've ever seen with all things considered.

Had plateaued and even gone backwards with hcp the last few months whilst feeling like my overall game was improving, funny how that works.

Read something last night about the speed of your backswing basically being irrelevant and tried to employ it today. Completely slow and steady on the back and accelerate on the downswing. Best round in months. Even with a ****ing 12 with 7 out from a bunker i managed to break nett par.

Thoughts on the backswing speed @BooKhaki @Dexter @kman ?

Even though I've only been playing consistently for a year
I like a tempo 3 count swing.
I find if I apply that to my driver and irons my strike is more consistent.

Just my 2 cents.

Managed to crack under 100 again yesterday, still learning but feel like I'm heading in the right direction.

I tend to lose "sight" of the club proprioception wise when im trying to put anything more than a casual swing into play. Goal was i guess to still have a good feel of where the club was at the top of my backswing so my brain doesnt try and be too helpful and fill in blanks.

The 3 count sounds probably similar to what i was doing but without the counting lol.

Slow swing for me. I can only hit it 220 Max. As soon as I speed up it all goes to shit.
I try and keep a nice tempo back and through and finish my swing all the way.

The speed of your back swing has to be in line with your hips and shoulder turn.
