Grand Final

And in the NRL's mind the only way they can one-up the AFL is by having what they consider a bigger miracle happen. It doesn't bode well for the Storm.

Yeah, its quite remarkable and a huge a 'coincidence' that the past two grandfinal winners, were Souths, who hadn't won it in an eternity, and the Cowboys, who had never won it before. Seems like it'll be the Sharks turn now to create some history. I'd say if the Sharks win today, then next season will be the Warriors turn, followed by the Titans, and if the trend continues, then the Eels who haven't won it since 1986, and then the Raiders who haven't won it since 1994.

It's not looking good for us then. According to the NRL's schedule, i'd say we'll have to wait a few more years yet.

Someone check Penriff's Holden Cup salary cap.

Edit: Holy wtf you can't take 4 points off the Roosters. He didn't even play at that anyway. Fix is in. **** Penriff. Wow I hope that never gets implemented into First grade.

Edit: Nice choke Penriff. Suck shit.

Gutsy win from Sydney.

Down 28-6 only to win 30-28 against one of the greatest NYC squads to ever play Holden Cup and doing it without your star player.

The forwards laid the platform in the second half. Frei, Ridley and especially Butcher were enormous and Penrith failed to go with them.

Great way to kick the festivities off, bring on the Interstate Clash!

Man, I am getting excited thinking about Gallen's tears.

But you're good with all the other players from Cronulla who have done nothing wrong having success, right ? That would of course be only fair and Aussie like.
Personally, if Gallen and Fifita weren't playing I'd have no problem with Cronulla winning today. In fact I'd be supporting them. Couldn't care less about the drug thing, they are just shit people.

Burleigh getting belted. Poor showing for the ISC

Somebody tell Freddy that he's thinking of oft forgotten Melbourne winger Craig Smith.

Fantastic performance from the Cutters, weren't afraid to chance their arm and racked up a well deserved big grand final victory.

I wonder how long it will take St George Illawarra to give Demetriou the head gig? He's got the runs on the board at the Intrust Super Cup level and as an Assitant coach, coupled with his propensity to coach good attacking systems he could be just the tonic.

I look at the Dragons success at the ISC (National Champions) and NYC (Prelim) level and just wonder why McGregor was so stubborn with his selections? Even Hook had the realisation that he had to push forward, turning what was looking like a disaster of a season, into a really promising one.

Just walked into the stadium its fuckin nuts in here
.it seems so much busier than last year. Sharks fans are everywhere. Hardly a Melbourne mofan be seen

I agree, I think McGregor would be stupid not to use Demetriou in some capacity with the NRL team. That's if McGregor survives. Demetriou seems like a really promising coach, and to be honest, I think he just gets coaching. Not everyone gets coaching, and I'm highly doubtful whether Mary can actually coach.

It was woeful continuing to watch the same plays repeated and repeated to no avail. I can't fathom how a coach can continue the same unsuccessful pattern of play for 26 rounds, and not realise that it's not working. It was painful how pre-planned the Dragons attack looked and how everything happened in slow motion, well before the line, just side to side. Imagine being a Dragons fan. Their most potent attacking threat was Marshall, and they refused to re-sign him. They used him just to pass from side to side in their set plays, when he has a lot more to offer them than that, and then they make him the scapegoat for their miserable season.

How does a team lead 28-6 with 40 to go and lose?

Not just any team, but the best defensive team in NYC history according to the commentators.

Unbelievable.

It's the worst choke I've ever seen.

Can't believe all these retiring players... seemed like yesterday I watched them debut. We're all getting so old :(

Im not watching it but I hear ya. I still remember when the likes of Lockyer, Johns, Parker, Stewart's, etc debuted. I remember watching GI in the Qld Cup. I remember Parker landing on his head as a baldy back in the day.

Douglas was the pick that got me, I remember that as if it was only yesterday.

Round 2, 2006. The comeback that kick-started the Broncos premiership season.

Glad to hear that his career isn't officially over, he's off to St. Helens but it certainly caught me off-guard.

I'll admit I felt sad seeing jack reed.

Wally, Lockyer, Johns and Gus all tipping the Sharks.
