Re: Griffin emerges as new supercoach
Shall we dig up the threads of excitement about Palmer Wapau playing too? Or perhaps Peter Wallace's arrival?

Nah, it was more until Lockyer retired.Peter Wallace wasn't that terrible...until Griffin became coach.
Didn't say he was terrible, but the expectations were higher then what should have been expected, more so when Lockyer retired.Peter Wallace wasn't that terrible...until Griffin became coach.
It is really great to dig up these old threads, not as a way to be a hindsight hero etc. but it is really interesting to see how things change.
Back in 2011/2012 I was high as **** on the griffin train. I deadset thought that give it another year or two we would be saying "Wayne who?". I mean my sig on rleague was 'in hook we trust' FFS. Like Penny I was probably one of the last ones to jump off the griffin express and hopped a ride straight onto the sack hook movement.
Looking back, for all Griffins good points, and there were many to be fair, he just wasn't cut out for a head coaching role in the NRL, much less at a club with one of the biggest profiles in the game
So you had 'Faith in Hook', so to speak? ;)
It's interesting that Hook was apparently in line for the coaching gig at the Tigers, he couldn't possibly have gone worse than Taylor, could he?
Guys?
