OFFICIAL Herbie ***** off to the dolphins

Thanks for answering non-Brad!
Another quick question please, if that's all good?

So, you are a big league fan, you live in Brisbane .. and you have no idea what CM means? 🧐🤔

Hahaha. Wabbit stew for dinner tonight! 😆

"JUST SAYIN' " lols
My pleasure *insert name here* 😁 I'll answer any questions you have.

Yes I would say I am big league fan. I've known nothing else really. After reading your original comment my guess is you are talking about the courier mail? If so, and this how you determine what a "big league fan" is, than I can't help you. Most league supporters I know hate the RL media. They constantly bring the game into disrepute without consequence, drag players names and there families through the mud. Brisbane would be the worst of it given it is (was) a one team town. I'd say my distaste for the"CM" as you call it puts me in the majority.

I'm not quite sure how being over the age of 12, and you home schooling kids are connected, nor do I know how they are relevant.

In terms of being around for years, sorry to disappointment you but you aren't special. I frequent most teams forums because I love the game rugby league, and forum are a great source of information as well as a great insight into how certain supporter bases feel about clubs movements etc. Hardly sad hey. Just busy gathering information.
You've answered the conundrum of your age by your inability ti understand the point I made, cheers.

You've also made yourself look far sadder than I could even possibly imagine. Cheers for the deadset entertainment.

Riiighht. You are still not making much sense. Maybe your communication skills are lacking.

But its my pleasure regarding the entertainment 🙂

We let Herbie go pretty easily and seems we are too concerned with Flegler now either. Surely there's a reason behind this, we have to be making a play for another marquee player? Fifita would be ripe for the picking to bring back to the club and would be a great signing.

It's hardly bile is it. The facts are, Walters can't coach, Reynolds is busted, and without the Roosters sombrero you were never going to keep Herbie after resigning Cobbo. That's all pretty level headed stuff.

Ill break it down:
Walters couldn't get a team sitting in the top 4 to a finals series with what, 8 games left? You've got players saying Reynolds runs the show and Kevvie can't coach.

I can tell you first hand Reynolds rarely trained with the main squad and was on reduced duties to keep him from breaking down at the end of year. It's why most Souths fans didn't want a 2 year extension with three halves coming through the ranks.

And the Herbie signing, well that's obvious.

Oh and yes, I am bored.

Nah we celebrated playing finals, winning an elimination final, a quarter final and being in a Prelim 5 years in a year. No silverware attached but it's alot more than your mob has done since the Cowboys won the comp. If you sincerely don't think a teams supporter base should be happy with being contenders for the big prize year after year, even without a premiership than you must be a sad sad man. Especially given we made a grand final with 2million dollars in spine players on the sideline from round 25.

Again though, I am stoked the Broncos aren't my team.
Yeah, all those Rabbitohs supporters getting together, “Hey brah wasn’t it great last year when we lost the prelim final? Doesn’t matter that we didn’t win the premiership, ‘cause that’s not important at least we made the eight. Bro, I dropped my teeth.”

Herbie left for a pay day like Fifita so adios in my book.
I want players chasing the big prize at my club.
The money is important but not the priority, that's the culture we need.
So many of these young guys want the big contract before the success because they measure success by $$$$$$.

The Walsh signing was great on paper but in reality has caused a problem with Herbies chances of playing 1 all but gone.
It may work out OK for us but there wasn't much wrong with a

1 Herbie
2 Cobbo
3 Mariner
4 Staggs
5 Oates

The only thing with Herbie at fullback is he shown no characteristics that would make him a fullback except speed. Suggesting we pass up on Walsh an actual fullback to keep a bloke’s daydream alive, a bloke that can’t pass the ball is lunacy.

That’s a very romantic view and unfortunately the days of loyalty for most players has gone, 99% of them want money and finals footy but money takes precedence. It is how you get guys like Hunt and Fifita who never wanted to leave going because the financial offer was just too good.

Well except for the Roosters of course…and Storm with their marquee players but they have two sets of books.

I didn't suggest anything just made an absevation

The clubs that have success have that culture of taking unders to chase success.
This notion that the Broncos don't find ways around the cap is, as much fun as it is to throw stones at other clubs, is just BS.

We just don't seem to be able to do it as well.

You didn’t suggest anything? You said there isn’t much wrong with a backline with Herbie at 1.

Did we dig our own grave by not releasing mariner to the dolphin's when requested?

There will always be players that get offers that are just too good to pass up. However, the amount teams need to over pay to make the decision impossible increases depending on how good the club culture is and how much they feel the coach and club means for their development as players and people.

Yes, Melbourne lose guys like B Smith or Tino to huge offers they aren’t willing to match but they also retain the players that they really need to. You rarely see Wayne, Robinson, or Bellamy get their pants pulled down in the player market when it comes to players in their roster. All accusations of cap cheating aside, they are also the best at what they do.

Kev may create his own legacy as a coach some day but we just aren’t that club yet and haven’t been for 5 years or more. We are going to have to achieve and maintain success the hard way first and then players may want to stick around for less.

I don't consider that a problem. I'll take a proven fullback over a centre who wants to play fullback any day.
