'Homesick' Ben Hannant may quit Bulldogs

Can players be trusted though?
Time and time again they will say something, yes direct quotes, only to go against what they said a short time later.
Ben Hannant's I will never leave QLD than singing with bulldogs a short time after certainly rings a bell for me.

And so are they pro ben hannant crew. They keep repeating they won't believe anything unless it's a direct quote.

You gonna give us the direct quote about Hannant saying he would never leave Queensland then?

I can't find it. I certainly remember and I think it was a couriermail article. I tried finding it but there's way too much stuff that comes up when I type Hannant's name so it's pretty hard to find lol.

Kaz I'm sure you could find it :P

I do remember him saying it just before he signed.. Everybody says stuff the regret..

Direct quote or no direct quote the fact of the matter is Ben Hannant left the Broncos for more money and went to the Bulldogs. Now he wants to leave the Bulldogs (sighting family issues as the cause) and wants to come back to Queensland. Rumour is that Hannant is asking for $400,000+ a year which is more then he is on now. So from the outside looking in it looks like Hannant thinks he can get a better deal in Queensland and wants to leave the Bulldogs. Big Question is this, WHAT IS STOPPING HANNANT LEAVING AGAIN IF HE THINK HE CAN GET EVEN MORE MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE AFTER SIGNING WITH THE BRONCOS OR TITANS???? If i were the Bulldogs i would let Hannant go with the clause that says if he signs with any other Rugby League team it cant be for anymore money then he was on at the Bulldogs. Then we will see if Family issues are the real cause of the while saga.

I think Hannat is a great player but what annoys me about him is that he left the Broncos for more money and went to the Bulldogs, now he thinks he can get even more money he wants to come back. Hannt supporter or no Hannant supporter it looks like he is money hungry and loyality doesnt come into play with Hannant.

Loyalty smoyalty. It barely exists these days and we all need to get used to it. If we can afford him, and we're not paying ridiculous overs to get him back, we'd be stupid not to do it in a heartbeat.

I agree with Emma. One further thing about Hannant, he may be trying to maximise the contract price he receives, but, he puts in every game he plays for his club. I think you get value for money from his performances.

It is easy to be skeptical about what Hannant says though, especially as about 2 weeks before he signed with the Bulldogs he said he'd never leave QLD again

Not really. He's not changing careers now is he.

I get what you're saying though.

Same thing that might stop you changing employers more than once (and even going back to a previous employer and then leaving again) for more money - probably nothing really. But at the end of the day it's his job and like any other working person, he has every right to change employers for more money if he wants.

If we get Tronc and Petro I'd prefer to see us save our salary cap space for upgrades to all our talented youth!

In 2006 I told myself that I would always be working in the IT industry because I loved it, and now I can't get away from it quicker enough! Same sorta shit.

IT industry pays well doesn't it? If you work for the right place?

Bingo.
Rocky it's not the same, wtf!
You said that in 2006 he said it TWO WEEKS before shit changes over years that's understandable, not instantly.

He said it TWO weeks before he SIGNED which means he would of already been in contract negotiations, which just goes to show that his word isn't worth much.

Yes. But prepared to take a pay cut to do something worthwhile.[/quote:226gq4ns]

Did a similar thing Rock (though still in a version of the same industry) - took about a $15K pay cut to move into a job that I love much more than my previous job - well not it wasn't so much my job I hated but my boss and the work environment.
