'Homesick' Ben Hannant may quit Bulldogs

I wonder if Ben Hannant will get a new church built for free is he signs for the Titans??

cheap shot. innocent until proven guilty.

Ok - some media reports are saying he wants a pay rise...

My guess is as good as anyones but I reckon he wants more $$$.

Not saying he doesn't miss home - I believe it but he's going for a pay rise along the way (by the looks of it).

I say sign him ASAP, I have swallowed my pride. We need you Polar Bear.

Again, zero logic. If he wanted a pay rise, why would he play the family card? The Dogs aren't going to say, "Ok look, if you stay until 2011 and beyond, we'll up your pay by 100k a year...deal?" If it was about family, money wouldn't be an incentive to stay therefore the Dogs wouldn't bother to pose that sort of incentive deal. And if it was about money, he'd make some other excuse up and he'd go to another club in Sydney that is cashed up! It's well known that the Broncos and Titans will struggle to fit him under the cap and I am sure Hannant knows that too! (He's not going to play the family card if he didn't know that the Titans and Broncos would struggle to fit him in)

I'm sorry, but this whole "Hannant wants a payrise" thing is by far, the most ridiculous conspiracy theory I have ever heard, in my whole entire life on BHQ. Period. It just doesn't make any sense and has zero logic.

Whoa Rock

What a way to blow my comments out of proportion!

I'm just simply saying that I "think" he wants to sign for more money during this process.

Put it this way - I don't think he'll go to QLD for 50k less --> I'm saying I reckon 50k is not worth his "homesickness".

However If an equal deal was on offer then I think he would seriously consider it.

Get over it mate, It's not a "conspiracy theory". Geez Louise.

We definitely need a prop, the Broncos would be stuuuuuuupid not to go all out to get him. We really need a top notch prop.

OK guys. The name calling directed at and by broncospwn in this thread has gotten completely out of control. I have deleted broncospwn's latest "rant" post and all comments relating to / quoting it.

Also consider this a general warning to all to tone it down. We all have opinions, sometimes they differ; but there is no need to stoop so low in order to either state or defend said opinions. Next time I'm just going to ban people.

Rock should be out for a couple of weeks for that. We'll see what happens at the tribunal.

I think the Rocks contribution was pre warning and as such is an non issue...no case to answer

Yes Rock's post was pre-warning (though he still should have known better than to stoop to such name calling). However the offending last line has now been edited out of both the original post and subsequent quoting of it.

For the record - I'm cool with it.

Like I said, he just took my first post way out of proportion.

Once again, it is up to you how much weight you put on it, but in RLW they have said that Hannant went to the Dogs seeking a pay rise which was refused and then the home sickness thing came up. Given that he said on the Footy show that if something suitable could not be arranged (which I take to mean a suitably large contract) that he would see out the contract at the Dogs, it looks like the spwn may have been on the mark.

If that were true, I think the Dogs would have come out and said that - they wouldn't be supporting his homesickness claim and be offering to give him an early release on said compassionate grounds.
