'Homesick' Ben Hannant may quit Bulldogs

Browsing over the last 5 pages of this thread I have come to two conlusions;
A. It appears that Hannant is homesick and is looking to return home to QLD, some people question his motives.
B. broncospwn is a knob.

He probably is worth 500k a year but the Salary cap just doesn't allow you to pay a prop that many IMO.

None obviously, but look at the replies in this thread. Just because a newspaper article says "understood he is seeking $500k a season", that's about as meaningful writing a letter to the editor saying "it's understood the world is flat". People said you won this thread when you have not!!!!!

Ben Hannant is on the Footy Show tonight apparently, should be interesting. If he comes out and says something along the lines of him leaving for the money, then fair enough and I will concede defeat and come to the assumption that Hannant is no longer a Mormon and is now Jewish.

Therefore he's not worth $500K. Worth is decided in conjunction with your means.

If you earn $50K per year, then buying a $60000 car with loan repayments of $800 a fortnight wouldn't be worth it. Doesn't make the asset any less valuable, but it's not worth it to you.

$500K on a prop with $4.25 million or whatever it is to spend isn't worth it.

But again, the only person saying Hannant has asked for that is Stuart Honeysett... LOLZ

Absolute Rubbish. I don't know if you've read his latest article but it basically says he's coming back (from his mouth that is) now because now he can get the same pay but in QLD.

If he couldn't get the same pay in QLD he would stay their. He's a lyer and a wanker, please don't go near him Broncos.

It's a business, emotions don't come into it. If he wants back Broncos would be idiots to not very seriously consider him. Our weakness is up front and he's perhaps the best prop in the game or close to it. He's also a very good person off field who wouldn't give negative media to the club from doing stupid things.

Haven't read the entire thread but I feel very little sympathy for him.

I guess there's two types of people, one that can empathize with dumb decisions and one that lives by the you reap what you sow motto.

I fall into the latter category. Hannant KNEW what he was getting himself into. He KNEW he was leaving Qld, his family, his friends, his lifestyle, and he did because he got offered more money in Sydney than he did in Brisbane.
Fact.

I find it very difficult for him to now turn around and say, yeah look i'm kinda homesick, I guess I didn't really think this through properly.

No Ben, you didn't, and sometimes in life you make choices you have to live with. This is one of them.

It's 3 years, suck it up and save the money you're earning so you can buy a nice big castle when you come back to Qld.

but it would be hilarious if broncospwn did turn out to be correct and Ben was simply after the money.

Agree to a point. However, I'd say "fine, you made a mistake and want to come home. The price you pay for that is bugger all money this season and see how you go next season".

That's my gripe. I don't mind if he asks for a release and the Bulldogs give it to him. But don't fucking expect a pay rise for it!
