How much better do we look now with a REAL dummyhalf

He isn't going to improve now. He is what he is at this point. A bloke who can defend well and not make a lot of errors but he'll give you slow service out of dummy half and a terrible grubber when in an attacking zone every match.

But he'll sell a dummy and score a try once a year..

The **** are you guys on about ay.

We went from one of the best defensive teams in the comp with McCullough, to one of the worst without him, you guys think that's a coincidence?

We've had to alter our starting line-up to try and incorporate more defence in the middle to compensate for the loss of Macca, do you think Wayne really wants Thaiday & Blair starting together? No, he's doing that because they're the most experienced, defensively sound players we have.

Starting McCullough at 9 may not be the sexiest thing in the world, but it does so much for our defence, and enables us to start players in the middle who are primarily "attacking" players. This year wasn't the best example of that, as Blair is more of a defensive specialist at this stage of his career, but I think we'll see a big shift next season when we're potentially starting guys like Bird & Lodge in the middle, whilst our 2 work horses Macca & Moose do all the dirty defensive work.

Defence, a great leader aswell. Hunt is a superstar but he's not a great leader and doesn't make the forwards around him look good.

Macca does those things? I'm sorry I know it sounds mocking but I'm honestly not, this is a serious question?

The only thing Macca does well is the defence.

Maybe leadership, maybe.. But making the forwards around him look good? No...

As far as being a leader, has anyone else noticed Hunt has cut a lot of the whinging from his game playing at 9? Maybe due to him leaving but also maybe feels less of the sting when things don't come off.

If only Milford could cut it out too. He still does a lot of death staring at the refs and a lot at his own players when something breaks down.

True. Definitely an area he needs to improve in, and I'm confident he will over time, it's part of maturing as a player and as a man.

I reckon Gillett is worse, he gets slept on pretty much every tackle and should win a penalty every time but doesn't and then gets up glaring at the ref. Yes, you should get a penalty but you didn't, play the ball.
