Injury Thread

Yeah, but if I had to pick 2 out of him, Yow Yeh and Kemp, Yow Yeh and Kemp win everytime.

It's funny, our team actually looks pretty damn awesome without the injuries.
1. Hoffman
2. Winterstein
3. Hodges
4. Folau
5. Yow Yeh/Kemp
6. Lockyer
7. Wallace
8. Kenny
9. McCollough
10. Tronc
11. Te'o
12. Thaiday
13. Parker

14. Anderson
15. Lui
16. Gillett
17. Glenn

That's definitely a top 8 team IMO. It's such a damn shame that we seem so cursed with injuries.

Switch Wallace for Hunt, and Kemp for Winterstein and I agree.

Yes, that's what I said. Winterstein's suffering second season syndrome in a big way, and Wallace...well, he's only marginally better than Shane Perry to be perfectly blunt. If he's on more than $250K I'd be punting him with Sims and Setu in order to get Hannant, Civoniceva and potentially Inglis next season as a replacement for Folau.

Fair enough on Kemp/Winterstein, but your comments on Wallace are... a bit harsh to say the least [icon_lol1. His inconsistency is so damn frustrating at times but he is clearly ahead of the likes of Perry IMO. And to be honest, I would currently group Hunt into the Shane Perry category before Wallace if you had to. Hunt has been earmarked as someone who could be our next star... but he has shown absolutely nothing to suggest this in first grade IMO. I realise he has been playing in an ordinary team, but I don't see what the fuss is about. If we want to do well right now, I think we need to play Wallace at halfback. I will be more than happy to be proved wrong about Hunt obviously, but right now I can't say I know why people rave about him.

When we get our rhythm going, we get most players back from injury and we don't suck ass as much, it will be interesting to see how we go.

Yow Yeh wins, and then I'd have Kemp at fullback and Winterstein on the wing. Room for everyone.

I just can't split them!

But that highlight package of Kemp from 2008 is telling.

I just want to say the injuries have been huge on our great club this season but the excuse of injuries being the reason why we can't play this season is getting a bit old..

Wallace is a ranga version of Perry just a little younger and faster. Our halves have no speed off the mark. Hunt should be given the chance to develop and Locky should let him play halfback.

He is in the hardest position as a rookie because Locky always wants the ball . Hunt can break the line with a handy step and has good speed off the mark, he is still working out how to play against better defensive patterns as well after coming from TCup.
His natural game in Tcup was to step back inside toward the ruck and he scored a lot of tries that way which he won't do in the top grade.

The criticism and doubting of Wallace is ridiculous.
He is a very smart player surrounded by cavemen.
Dumb forwards and primitive plays will make any halfback struggle.

If the much lauded Cronk played witht the current Broncos pack and had to endure the one out procession of predictable plays, he would look diabolical.
With the lack of thought and planning ( and chasing ) that goes into our kicking game, in terms of support play, Cronk would look terrible again.

Actually RBY I am one of a few who rated Perry at all. I always thought he saw a game really well (which showed up live) he just didn't have the speed of hand or legs to take advantage of what he saw.

Locky needs to go, he has no speed and can not break the line. GAME OVER!!!!!!!!
I have watched post's for the last 2 years without comment and have followed the Bronc's since 88. Locky is gone!!!!!

[eusa_clap.gi You've dead set stopped a truck on a 10 cent piece.

Best and most accurate post I've said here in a while. Absolutely spot on the money.[/quote:3pmh6zzt]

I also don't know why Wallace is being criticized by so many people. if we spend the money we have available for next year wisely and strengthen our pack then Wallace will have more room to move and more time to make his plays.

I believe that Wallace is also due back next round, so he will help our play immensely as i'm not sure Hunt is quite ready for a fulltime NRL gig just yet, but i would use Hunt at hooker once Wallace comeback (at least until Macca returns) then keep him on the bench (as i think it would be better for his development), still i would drop Hunt back to QLD Cup for a few round every so often during the season to ensure he gets a full game at half back

I'm a big fan of Wallace and reckon he adds a lot to our team, can't wait till he's back.

mate i agree, just look to how we went to hell after he got injured before the GF qualifier last year. he works relly well with Lock and Locky doesn't feel he needs to do everything when Wal is in the team.

Updates

Alex Glenn - Round 20 v Roosters at Suncorp
Justin Hodges - Round 20 v Roosters at Suncorp

Got the Dragons in Round 21 at Suncorp so hopefully both players do come back in round 20.

I would just like to highlight this quality post and I wonder why there has only been one post from this valuable contributor.

Wasn't Hodges always set for round 20 or was it just "mid-season" before?
I think that's good news if they've set a firm date, it means he should be back by at least before the final series.

So that's not really good news then if that article saying Hodge's progress is not encouraging has any truth to it [icon_frown

I would love to get a word from the club soon about how Hodges is progressing and if he's close to a return.
Hopefully another video with the great man himself in it.

+1000 _woohoo_

I must say that I am very dissapointed with Kemp and Hodges injuries and not seeing them play most of this year. My two fav players and I hardly saw Kemp at all and Hodges obviously hasn't played yet. Other than that the guys are looking quite fit with Gillett, Glenn and Yow Yeh all removing their bandages from the injuries they were carrying. Looking good going into the semis fitness wise I would say. Hope I haven't jinxed us with an update to this thread? :)
