Can't wait to see the PNG Hunters side in action, hopefully it will be a long term success for PNG.

Tough road trip for Easts, Grand Final replay on the opposition's home soil. Mackay look a little weaker this year, but with the Tigers sporting a couple of new faces themselves, wouldn't be surprised to see them go down. Excited to see what happens though - and pretty happy to see Lodge don a Tigers jersey. I have big wraps on the kid, think he's going to be one of the best props to come through in the next few years.

How come Cody Walker is playing for Easts? I was under the impression that the Storm signed him to replace Widdop at Five-Eighth.

Or are they going all in on Hampton?

No idea how he went last year but I was always surprised Jake Marketo couldn't get another NRL gig. I always thought he showed promise in his time at the Dragons.

What's the go with Cullen, Jeb? I would have thought a player like him would have been a shoe in for a starting spot. Would also think Strasser would have to be an outside chance of lining up for the Dolphins.

The mail is that no Broncos have been released to play this week with the exception of Hala because he needs match fitness.

Norths 22 defeated Ipswich 16 in the opening contest of the season.

Easts are doing a number on Mackay at the moment, 26-6 at Half-Time.

Meanwhile, Henjak's first game back as coach has started on a sour note with the Pride holding a 20-0 lead with 20 to go.

Walker will be at Easts all year, Hampton will have the 6 all year. I wrote a month ago about it but I don't know where.

Norths on the back of a 15-5 penalty count today.

Talk of Brett Finch returning apparently.

Dolphins & Hunters on Channel 9 right now if you're interested in some footy.

Georgetown & Cullen come into the Dolphins side.

Eliab scores the first ever try for the PNG Hunters.

6-0 PNG

They've started with plenty of gusto PNG. #9 Puara in particular has been a stand out slicing through some pretty soft Dolphins defence in the middle.

Despite being under the pump, the Dolphins had done well to hold on but some poor last tackle options have hurt them. Foster in particular has made a couple of poor choices.

Now Teteh scores a sensational try from dummy half. He just flew past Coutts, sold a dummy and was able to step Georgetown before slamming the ball down underneath the black-dot.

12-0.

Now the Hunters make a mistake off the kick off and the Dolphins take full advantage with a try out-wide to Coutts. Pretty soft defence from PNG who didn't move off the line at all, but that might be the boost this young Dolphins side needs.

12-6, great conversion from Georgetown.

Foster sends Hala over the line but in his effort to ground the ball, Hala loses it. A shame for the big man, he's helped swing the momentum.

Marketo who's had a couple of good runs this afternoon steps and powers his way over the line.

Looks like we're going to be all locked up.
